    do I have the wrong one? 0-60....4.2 secs.? estimated extended range 341.....real world never meets that. Don't run the a/c, don't carry anyone else, don't put that car top luggage carrier on, don't go over 55...you might get that 341.

    a comparison: I have an '06, twin 25" diameter tubes, 24' pontoon boat. It had an '05 Merc. 60 hp big foot 4 stroke. I pulled multiple tubes with preteens on them for years. Not very fast even at max, but they were content, until becoming teenagers then way too slow especially in the turns...

    Can't help with boat resurrections, but you mentioned a '76 550K. So, here's my mint, unrestored, 100% '75 550F. I fully understand resurrecting an old relic, or finding one in mint condition. No better feeling. It's difficult to "read" intent on a website.

    I considered it, but didn't because I can't lower my motor anymore and couldn't get a definitive answer as to why it would not elevate it higher. That would cause ventilation issues for me. Just be sure yourself....

    your looking at it wrong. The electric motor isn't the problem. As a matter of fact, the electric motor might even have a greater power to weight ratio over an internal combustion engine. Regardless, the problem with an EV is the "gas" tank, the battery. Actually, the diesel engine/kerosene...

    Thanks I’ll take any info as to a competent pontoon repair/replace facility. I have found only one , USA pontoons…500 miles away though. Great Lakes skipper has toons… The welder says no way to repair safely. You can’t heat aluminum like that. As someone else also said. That’s all I’ve come up...

    the problem with electric cars/boats....god help us, planes(jeez), is the same problem that existed back when electric cars first came out. And it's why they didn't become the leading transportation method. Per volume, the electric battery, which is a fuel tank, CANNOT match the energy content...
