Sitting in a hotel room when I don't wanna... Hurricane Idalia

If I lived in an area high enough not to worry about storm surge, I think I would be tempted to stay put, But in a low lying area I'd be getting out of town. You don't want to underestimate the power of water. Good luck, at least you will be well fed!

If you already have it done, does it seem to work ok?

Boat construction question for tank removal

Personally, I'd try to save the hatch. You might need access to all that wiring at some point. Can you cut a piece of wood to match the original and glass it in? That does seem like a lot of wiring to be next to a gas tank by the way!

1989 25' Invader cabin crusier fiberglass stress cracks

Another thought would be to check the engine mounts and what they rest on to make sure there is no play there allowing the motor to move slightly and putting extra strain on the transom.

1989 25' Invader cabin crusier fiberglass stress cracks

It could very well mean a rotten transom that's starting to flex. When (if) you find a rotten transom, prepare for rotten stringers and such as well. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Good luck!

    Russian spacecraft crashes into moon

Yeah, I was still in school too. It's funny, in some things I'm still converting to the old system, as in weight, I am still converting to pounds to know what to expect. Speed or distance, the other way around, miles or mph mean nothing to me until I convert to km or km/h.

    Am I just nuts???????

FB marketplace is a dangerous place! I know the feeling of wanting another project too! Now that I have the boat I did to where I wanted, I'm beginning to find myself thinking I want something new and browsing marketplace more and more. Maybe we are all a little nuts?

Tohatsu m8 2003 8hp jumps up and down

When you say it shifted normally without the prop, did the prop shaft turn forward and reverse or did the shift lever just move forward and reverse properly? Did you recently change the prop? Not likely water in seperater. Fine filings in oil not a big deal if no larger bits. Its unlikely it's...

    Dog gps trackers

The ones that use a gps collar with an hand held devise are $1000 plus! My brother has them for his dogs. I settled on one called "tracki" it does need cell phone coverage to work and a subscription but the devices were fairly cheap so I figured I'd give them a try and if they don't work I can...

    Are plastic props junk?

I recently saw an add where a guy was selling a composite prop with interchangable blades. Would that be plastic, or something stronger? Would the blades be different pitch's? Sorry, not trying to pirate the OP's thread, this is somewhat related!

    Russian spacecraft crashes into moon

Thats true. Metris makes so much more sense. SAE socket and wrench sizes drive me nuts. With metric, if the 13mm socket don't fit, try the 14mm!

    1979 Johnson 6hp Prop slip

Probably a spun prop. The older props had a pressed in round rubber insert and when these get old they loose their grip under load. I experienced the same thing one time. I could go slow but give it gas and the engine would rev up but the boat would slow down. Newer props have a different type...

Fuel Tank Venting in Stingray I/O

I was thinking the same thing. How does it vent if its below the cap? A loosened cap will let rain and splash water into the tank.
