    My boat is being a boat . . .

Yeah, that was the point. Tongue in cheek would have been nice if we were 10 feet above sea level

    Help with engine timing

Timing mark is on your timing cover, just above the balancer on the port side. Should be a line on the balancer marking TDC

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Makes sense. I always wonder why they don't just build the first floor expecting it to flood. Separate electric, no fiberglass insulation, no drywall, no carpeting, no built in appliances, etc.

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Yeah, lemme tell you about new orleans...5-10 ft *above* sea level? That's cute @Lou C

    Help please

A kit to replace the whole system. The advice is to replace the manifolds before they leak into your engine and destroy it. However, if you just want to replace the rubber, you'll probably need to remove the manifolds. That looks like a smaller gap than on a 2 piece manifold, and I think it's...

    Source for mooring chain/hardware?

My 1/2" mooring chain let me know today that its lifespan is 15 years... So I figure this is a good time to replace all the hardware. Anyone have a good source for mooring chain/hardware? I've been using big box light chain, since I replace it every couple of years anyway.

    1989 Mercruiser 4.3 LX, Alpha 1 Gen 1 Overheating

I leave the o ring off. Turning the prop turns the shaft. Do yourself a favor though and reassemble the drive and then install the complete unit

    Windshield hinge pin removal

The big issue is not the replacement, seems easy enough. Even with a new center piece (actually I removed one pin) the problem is the fixed portion that has limited access and is more precarious. Yes, just an aluminum rod. It's the disassembly, which I can't figure out. I wonder if trying to...

Dial torque wrench, I misspoke. Only other proprietary tool I can think of is the castle nut remover?

Stalling after warm-up mystery 5.0 Mercruiser Searay

I'd grab a timing light and put it on one of the wires to rule out an electrical issue, make sure you're getting consistent spark. Double check that your choke is open and stays open. Have you looked at your fuel filter, make sure no water in there? Once it starts again, are you ever able to get...

    50 amp circuit fail

It did, but looked pristine inside. For sure no water intrusion. The studs are encased in epoxy and the front is gasketed pretty well it seems.

    Turning point hustler 4 blade

Well, I went skiing for the first time in 2 years. Got me up with full tank of gas and 3 aboard on a dedicated slalom ski. I had a REAL hard time with the 3 blade, this seemed much easier (but 2 years ago...). What is true is that I have, if anything, gained 1 or 2 mph top end. Hit 47 on the...

    50 amp circuit fail

TL;DR: When the 50 amp breaker trips, does the button pop out? Has anyone had it fail without external evidence of failure? Boat ran perfectly for about a half a day for the first time in 3 years :) Oil pressure gauge started bouncing, noticed fluctuations in voltage at helm, etc. Boat still...
