    Can’t find dropped pin

You will probably find the pin in the bilge after the boat runs on plane for a little while. If it was to get into the flywheel housing that would be a problem. Not very likely to happen however.

    Can’t find dropped pin

If you are looking for the stainless steel pin that is held in place with a cotter pin you can use a 3/8” stainless bolt with a self locking nut.

Where should water come out from on OMC V6 3.8 sterdrive

Does water circulate through the engine? That is what is what you want.

    Trim Bonding Cable

I am trying to remember, but I believe there was a stainless wire that was screwed to the tiller bar and had a larger eyelet crimped on that goes under one of the 7/16” studs that secure the inner transom plate. Then there should also be another wire from the engine block to the same stud.

    SWITCH FROM QJET4MV TO EDELBROCK

One thing I found out about I5. They use ball point pen springs in place of the correct Qjet power valve spring. I had to order the correct spring from Quadrajet Parts. As long as there will not be any clearance problems the Edelbrock 1409 should work.

    1985 Mercuiser 170 Carburator

There is a hole in the pump chamber that is connected to the float bowl where the check ball fits. To locate the hole put some gas in the float chamber and you will see where the check ball has to fit.

    SWITCH FROM QJET4MV TO EDELBROCK

The Edelbrock kit adds some height to the carburetor, sometimes the flame arrestor does not have enough clearance with the engine cover. Why not just get the Quadrajet rebuilt. They are very good carburetors. It is tuned for your engine and the Edelbrock while it will be close but not perfect...

OMC Stringer Trim pump - Question.

If it needs fluid then there is a leak. Feel around the lines and under the rams for fluid.

    Chrysler 318 cooling issues

Get a bucket of water and some hose connected to the intake side of the pump as close as possible, submerge the hose in the bucket and see if it draws water. Also disconnect the discharge side to see how much water comes out. I know this sounds strange but give it a try.

89- 5.8l OMC with Holley 4160 flooding problem

As Scott just mentioned about extra gaskets in the Holley kit. There 2 different gaskets for the power valve, triangular and round. It all depends on the outlet nozzle position on the valve. If the wrong one was used that could be your problem.

    1968 bertram 25 flybridge

Very possible if the exhaust was going through the drive. All the water going through the drive was hot. While the lower was in the water the upper was roasting.

    1968 bertram 25 flybridge

The best thing to do is to connect the incoming water from the drives to the incoming water from the hull pickups. Mercruiser recommends this arrangement. Especially if the exhaust is routed through the drives. IF the boat is out the water then a drive flush out will be enough to run the engines.

    Power Steering Pump Mounting?

2X with AD on the port side mounting. I cannot remember ever seeing one on the starboard side. Original Chevy V8s had the pump mounted low on the port side that caused engine alignment problems with the adjustment strut touching the bilge. Mercruiser then provided a relocation kit.

    Mercruiser 160 carburetor

The “T” that is on the 160 was something the previous owner added. Just remember all marine fuel pumps with the small male fitting for the Tygon hose must be routed to the carburetor’s air horn so that the fuel stays out of the bilge and into the carburetor only. The style that Chris posted can...

need help figuring out how to remove a starter from a 1996 4.3GL

    Mercruiser 160 carburetor

The Tygon hose should only connect the rear of the air horn to the fuel pump vent. Use the 165 valve cover with the vent tube connected to the flame arrestor as you posted. Engines with the plastic bowl connected to the fuel pump as in the picture Chris posted had the short hose that went...
