I’m back tracking on older threads been away a while. Do you have a big trans cooler on the woody? Did you have to add airbags?

    1974 Chieftain 25 "Adventurer" Restoration

What’s your restoration intent, are you restoring as per or similar to original, or do you have custom plans? Mix of both? Are you keeping the head and galley etc? And great hoist ingenuity I’m riveted to this thread

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Understood and thanks for that. I think it looks really well thought out but I too am new to electrical. I hope you didn’t mind me reposting. He’s in Ancaster. Let me know if you want his contact. I thought the price was reasonable and he was fast. Same day service!

    68 Offshore restoration

If you can go watertight hatch, that’s going to be nice! Rabbit hole warning. I know this one well. To the point where I bought a second boat to use while my project creeps and stops and creeps and stops.

    Lowest compression you’d buy

I have a 70hp that I thought had a worn out powerhead with low compression. My mechanic said it was full of carbon because the previous owner removed the thermostat and it could not get up to temp. He did a decarb and got the compression up to more acceptable numbers. Still lower than I like but...

    68 Offshore restoration

I drilled a hole at each end of my rod/ski locker. It will fill with rain water, a plug means you have to manually pull it to empty it. My thoughts is to let it auto drain

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Thanks, it’s nothing that won’t be resolved over time and medical procedures but it’s going to be a difficult journey. And things will improve, hoping by fall it will be in the rear view. I’m going to plug away on the good days

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Thanks. I’m planning on running a cable like you said to a fuse block under the dash for all lights, horn, bilges, and aux 12v plugs. With a disconnect switch at the back by battery. I want an auto bilge direct to battery for when boat is unattended in water but that’s the only direct full time...
