    Yes you can, get a smart charger and keep an eye on the water/acid level to make sure you don't run it dry.

    How many and what type battery does your boat have now? Do you have a battery switch? Do you have room for two batteries?

    Group 24 batteries should work, I'd go for group 27 myself if they fit in your boat. You can never have too much battery capacity. Are you planing on adding any electronics?

    What do the spark plugs look like? Sounds like you have a leak especially if the motor isn't smoking a lot. Other than using a lot of oil how is the motor running?

    This is what I was going to say. After I bought my E bike I researched locks and was going to buy the best lock then I learned that there is none. They can all be cut in seconds with a cordless angle grinder.
