    If the rust has been there for any length of time the metal will be pitted. Sanding is a preferred method, but it may not completely remove the pits. Rust Reformer is a fantastic product. It provides a chemical reaction that turns iron oxide black, and turns it into an inert compound.

    I used to take my 40# kickers off the boat and store them in the basement for the Winter. Did that thru age 73. Now at age 75 I leave them on the boat. If I had a RIB I'd buy a trailer and leave the engine on the boat, covered and in the garage.

    If your gross pay equals that boat, then you should be able to buy almost anything brand new. If your net pay equals the other boat, then you need to hire a new tax attorney.
