    Considering '13 Bayliner 215

It will have plenty of power It will be comfortable within its purpose It will start and run reliably provided you do your part. Parts should not fall off unless abused, but you will curse at the maintenance bill, or the boat itself if you do the maintenance yourself, but you'll get over it...

    Getting 1st Covid/Pfizer shot romorrow

I followed the CDC and WHO closely for months, and because of that, there is no way I can put faith in the vaccine being both safe and effective. Then again, I only know 1 person that has had the vaccine and it was either accept the vaccine or get fired. He had to call in sick for a day or...

    Single point drain winterization

You've convinced me, I'm now going to repower with a closed system.

    Single point drain winterization

I'm trying to extend the season beyond 2 months, and trying to avoid pulling hoses and pumping antifreeze 10 times a year. If it is always drained, there is zero chance to forget.

    Single point drain winterization

Hoses 11 and 12 are 1-1/4", 8 is either the same or 1-1/2". I'm not really concerned with the inlet hoses clogging, it's the actual valve I'd be concerned about.

    Single point drain winterization

I've read that converting to closed cooling isn't recommended after years of rust and scale accumulation, so I think I'm stuck with the open system unfortunately.

    Single point drain winterization

So you are saying the single point drain will reliably drain the lower inlet system, or it is still a gamble, just much cheaper than a cracked block?

    Single point drain winterization

I find it interesting that everyone talks trash about the single point point drain, yet nobody seems to even know how they work. Seems legit

    Single point drain winterization

I got the plug adapters in the block, and the plugged manifold elbows installed. It is much easier and faster to drain now, and the I.D. of the block fittings are significantly larger than the quick connects, so that's always a plus. What is the purpose of the blue plug at the bottom of the...

    Tahoe Q5i VHF radio

I don't think you understand what "radio horizon" means. I also don't believe the coastguard is going to install an antenna that will not effectively cover the water. There is a lot to antenna design and the radiation pattern can be manipulated to achieve desired results. The facts I stated...

So, what did you do today?

What's the price of a dewar vs compressed? You must be past the point of needing a dewar, no?

2008 Tahoe Q6 Gas Tank Removal

In my 2006 Q7, the only way the fuel tank is coming out without a saw is by removing the engine and sliding it out. I never looked close enough to see how the tank was secured though. I've looked at several Tahoe's of different years and they have all had a solid floor.

    Tahoe Q5i VHF radio

Pardon my ignorance. I knew it could be done, I just didn't realize it was very common. If it were me, I'd use the money I saved on the boat for a vhf radio as backup to a sat phone and a beacon. I guess I'm just fearful though. The fact still remains that unless the OP puts a tall mast on...

    Tahoe Q5i VHF radio

Just the thought of being in a 19.5' bowrider 25 miles off shore freaks me out. Do people actually do stuff like that?

    Sputtering when at full throttle

Check that the float moves freely, the needle and seat are clean and the needle is installed correctly. I don't know that specific carb or I could be more help

    Sputtering when at full throttle

Are you saying you took the carb off, took it apart, reinstalled, and now the float bowl is overflowing?

    Tahoe Q5i VHF radio

There really won't be much benefit to a mounted radio unless it is below deck. Vhf is line of sight and there are typically no obstructions out on the water. The no ground plane marine antennas aren't the most efficient anyways, so I'd vote handheld. Being into amateur radio, I considered...

When slow is faster: Trailering with impatience

I really don't like not having control over the trailer brakes. A quick pinch of a controller would have saved that.

Large circlips pliers for OMC lower units?

Knipex makes great pliers for a reasonable cost, but I have no idea what size you need.
