    new prop and trim tab

Re: new prop and trim tab You probably need one with a setback, so you can get the same surface area and put it far enough behind the prop to get back to how the old clearance was setup. Something along these lines: There are ones that are even longer/deeper that look like a rudder, too...

    Advise please!

Re: Advise please! As I said, Grady or Mako all day and night, baby. And spending more was best. So much relief that you didn't get a generic, rotted old I/O bowrider. Ride that family enthusiasm to gain commitment from them all to help! Put 'em to work! GOOD LUCK! Now... ain't ya glad...

Can I add galvanized steel guide poles to my aluminum trailer?

The question is about galvanic corrosion. Can galvanized steel guide-on poles work on an aluminum trailer, or do I need to pursue only aluminum poles... but then as i write this, I realize the hardware is going to be steel anyway -- right?

    1985 century mirada 255

Re: 1985 century mirada 255 The NADA guide is patently and absurdly wrong. I saw that info, but it is completely meaningless given the age and size of the boat. NADA stinks in that regard. Back in the day, the bare hull, sans every accessory known to boating, might be recorded as 4200 w/ no...

Are fewer blades always 'faster' than more blades?

Re: Are fewer blades always 'faster' than more blades? Oh good grief, isn't that a Cat? All bets are off then! That is basically a low-flying airplane that comes into contact with the water now and then at high speed, so those props are holding onto the water! These props will chop...

Are fewer blades always 'faster' than more blades?

I hate when I give general, well-established guidelines to people and then they refute them because some guy told them something different, which requires me to go into more detail, but also know the exceptions to the rules (so to speak). Case in point: Friend has generic 25' center console...

Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist. This is a lovely 'Marinea' motor for sale. In case you think it's a typo, he does it twice... and the Mariner font doesn't make the greatest distinction between an R and an A. CL AD: 5 horse long shaft power marinea motor - $750 (egg harbor...

Where to find a cover such as this (pic inside)

Stumbled onto this picture and I like the cover. It's different (at least to me). Searching for boat covers is a headache. Sooo many results. The ones that cover the most are full of trailers clips and a mix of elastic. It's a pain to pull them on. The ones that are easiest to use have an...
