    Antifreeze under stairs

Common winterization procedure as said. You can flush it out if the water has a path to the bilge for pumping out with the bilge pump. I recommend doing that as it can get funky if left in there.

    new engine overheats

What temperature thermostat is in there? Around here 140* is the common standard for freshwater cooled. Closed system is hotter stat.

    Stuck again

I use a big Allen wrench. Heat the pin and carefully unscrew it.

    NYC Accident

Yeah, I was wondering if it was fly by wire. When those get a glitch there is nothing you can do without shutting down the entire thing and waiting for a re-start. Had a ferry boat up here that had similar issues, but they were far from any obsticles. After re-start it was ok. They had the...

Jacking a pontoon onto logs/pvc to roll into lake

It should hold the weight as it’s distributed along the entire surface.

    RIP Norm

Yeah, he was a good guy, he will be missed. Never on the celebrity bad news. Heaven will roar: NORM when he shows up!

Jacking a pontoon onto logs/pvc to roll into lake

How about getting some long bunk slides and putting them lengthwise under the toons? It would be the best way in my opinion, no chance of bending the toons.

    Starter issue

At minimum the head should be brought to a machine shop and have it re-conditioned. Best to do both heads at the same time. But if the piston is damaged enough the engine is coming out for rebuilding.

    A wiring question

Then you should be ok. But I’ve never seen that light of wire going to lightning fixtures. I know the fixtures themselves have light wires. I’ve installed interior led lighting in boats, had to run wiring to the whole works, 12 dimmable area lights. I ran 16 gauge for the main harness though...

    A wiring question

Hhmm… 22 is fair light wire, however if you are running led lights it may be ok. Have to see how many amps you are running. look at this. https://www.proactiveyachtservice.com/news/how-to-size-your-boats-dc-electrical-wires

    Lesson learned

Iv never had a broken block on any boat I’ve winterized. Done hundreds for customers, and many times of my own. Drain all water, run -100 through and go home. -50 is for fresh water systems in boats/rv’s, drinking water. Lately I don’t run anything in my engines and have been fine as long as...

Ok, so you don’t have the drive I was seeing in my head, if your shift dog is straight ahead it should come off. I was visualizing a bravo drive. Sorry. The above suggestions should work.

    Lesson learned

I certainly didn’t mean to offend you. I was taught how to winterize years ago by a merc shop. We would drain the block and power steering cooler, run the fluid through the muffs till it came out the exhaust. Never had an issue. Since joining on here I haven’t used freeze protection much...
