How much water is too much in water seperator

When I change my fuel/water separater every spring I dump it in a glass jar and watch to see if there's any water. There never is. 1/4 cup seems like a lot.

    Towing a Chaparral 23 H2o Sport boat with a 4Runner that has a 5,000 pound tow rating

I too think you'll be over. Also, check the manual but mist tow ratings assume an empty tow vehicle. And passenger and cargo weight subtracts from the tow rating.

    BATTERIES HOOKED UP WRONG (Help)

From your pictures I think what you had was the batteries in series for 24 volts and then a dead short thru your switch set to both. This may have damaged the switch. Depending on which battery is which you may have applied reversed polarity to your boat's wiring when you moved the switch thru...

    Skiing behind Scarab Jet Boat

I don't ski but my sister does. She skied behind a Yamaha jet after always being behind prop boats. She didn't like it. Saud the water felt "soft" like it wasn't as bouant. I'm guessing it was the areation.

    negative

Your current is flowing to the motor somehow. Could be steering linkage, mounting brackets, shift cables, fuel line, etc. Hook up the proper negative like you intended.

    2010 Tahoe Q5i 4.3l will only make 3500-3700 rpm, 32 mph

You need less pitch, not more, to get your WOT RPM up where it needs to be.

    Prop for Bayliner

If WOT is only 4,000 RPM it was likely the wrong prop.

Brake drum and bearing cap questions

Did you retain the zirk in the spindle or take it out? If you retained it which zirk to you grease or do you do both of them?

Brake drum and bearing cap questions

So it sounds like the shop guy was wrong again and that the cap with the rubber plug would work just fine. I'll try and pick one up.

Brake drum and bearing cap questions

I have a 2004 Tennessee tandem axle galvanized boat trailer with 3,500 pound axles and drum surge brakes on the rear axle. Under normal conditions there is about 6,000 pounds on the axles. Round trip from the house to the lake and back is 200 miles. I probably do that about 10 to 12 times a...

Single point drain leaks. Serious? Eliminate it?

Okay, I guess there is a difference in an O ring and a washer. I never thought much about it. Anyway, it's whatever circular rubber piece comes with the plug. I am wondering if maybe one got stuck on the hole when I removed the plug and I'm trying to screw the new one in and have two. Maybe this...

Single point drain leaks. Serious? Eliminate it?

I have a 2004 Rinker 232 Captiva BR with a Mercrusier 350 Mag and B3 outdrive. It has the single point drain system with 2 blue plugs on the raw water pump, one on the thermostat housing, and one at the bottom right of the engine where all the drain hoses come together in one ball shaped...

    Mini Excavators

A mini can be a 4,000 pound machine, a 10,000 pound machine, or larger. They are pretty easy to operate. They are great for digging ditches and holes. They are pretty useless for making or maintaining roads.

trailer makes banging noise when stop & starting

Mine does that. The shock in the assembly needs replacing but they don't make it anymore so I just put up with the slop.

Why does my tandem axle trailer not have a backup solenoid?

My 2004 trailer with drum brakes didn't have a lock-out solenoid. It's uphill into my garage and I could not back it in there. The drum brakes were very effective up hill in reverse. I had a solenoid installed at a local trailer shop and now it works just fine to back the trailer up a grade. The...

    New to Larson

The front compartment is likely an anchor compartment. It could be a cooler, or you could use it for that I guess. I highly recommend you have an anchor sized for your boat and desugned for the type of terrain you boat around.

    Alternator upgrade

Depending on what you are upgrading from and too you may or may not use all the same wires. Your post is way to vauge to answer.

If water comes out of propeller it means thermostat opened and water pump working?

Thre is a bypass. The raw water pump is always running. The water has to go somewhere when the T-stat is closed. Further the presure from your water hose from your house will push water thru the system even if the pump is bad. So, running on the hose proves nothing except the engine runs.

    Starting Dry

You need to find out why the boat won't start correctly and fix that. My '97 Larson was hard to start for years. The right mechanic finally replaced the ignition module and it fired right up after that. Running your impeller dry will destroy it almost instantly.

    Towable tube repair

I found the leak in our tube, a very small slit. The tube came with a repair patch that is just a clear 2" x 2" patch that you're supposed to stick over the hole. It really doesn't stick well and looks like it will probably come off with the first use. The tube bladder is supposedly PVC. I use...
