    Not so fast. Lund boats the seat basses have a hole in the bottom if the seat is not in the base any water gets below the floor and the insulation hold the moisture. I redid the floor in my 5.3 the floor was rotted the transom is rock solid.

    I have never heard of fearing fishing rods getting wet, people fish in the rain, rods get dropped in the lake etc. I will say this about salt water fishing rods, if you do not rinse them the eyes get pitted and crusty from the salt and humidity if you store them un rinsed.     I live on a peninsula I like to think I have them at bay. My neighbors are gone till March so when they left I started trapping and shooting. Have not seen a squirrel in 6 days.
