    Boat not planing

Lots of bad info here. That's not a 25 HP boat. More like a 60. If you have a 25 and added a kicker, you have exceeded the capability. A prop change won't help you. You need a bigger motor.

    No, you are not ignorant.

    Should I be worried

The trailer was designed for a specific weight and boat length. Making mods is sometimes not the best answer if the trailer's specs aren't right.

    Boat not planing

That's the answer. See post #2. Additionally, post #12 indicates that trim angle may add to the problem.

    Boat not planing

It won't plane with the 6. You need to change the prop to a "sailboat prop" that will allow a little motor to run a big boat and still maintain the proper rpm specification. Same thing with the 25. It should plane the boat gangbusters, but you have to have the correct prop to maintain proper...

    Should I be worried

Nice boat, but the wrong trailer. Too short. The pic shows that the boat cannot be moved forward. If its cheap enough and you like the boat, go for it. Then, buy a new trailer.

    Johnson sea horse

I have bought those for 20 bucks a few years ago. But now everybody selling them thinks they are worth gold. If you sell it, someone in the know would probably give you up to 100 bucks if it has compression. Truth is many of those motors are still running and in use today. They are easy to...

Evinrude 9.5 vs 8hp speed test

If you wanted to get there real fast and look cool, you bought a Merc. (think tower of power) If you wanted to get back home again, you bought a JohnnyRude.

Evinrude 9.5 vs 8hp speed test

I have a 1970 9.5 on a 14' tinny. One vacation I replaced it with a 1984 9.9. The difference was negligible. One thing I can say about the 9.5, though. It simply runs and runs and is probably the best OB I ever had.

How to actually BOOK a flight online?

I took my first business flight in 1971. Was a road warrior until 2016 when I retired. Now we travel a lot for leisure. First, go to every airline website that is in your local airport and sign up for a frequent flyer account. When you want to travel, go to travelocity.com and see what's...

    Lifting plastic trailer fenders?

I bought my first boat trailer in 1968. Had metal fenders for eons. Constant problems. Back about 20 years ago I got some plastic fenders. The improvement was so great that I wouldn't own metal fenders ever again. Like lots of things, experiences can be different.

    what is make and model?

A quality pitot tube speedometer, with a transom mounted pitot tube, properly mounted with a solid hose sealed at both ends, will provide a speed that is +- 1 mph of the actual water speed. The "hole" on an outboard motor may not provide accurate results because of changing trim of the motor...

    Lifting plastic trailer fenders?

I bought my first brand new car in 1970. The oem tire brands varied over the years, but in my experience when I ordered a car with a towing package (which is always) I usually got Goodyears. On some of the wife's cars there were varioys brands, some OK, some good and some crappy. My current...

Ideas on getting lake water temp sensor w/o drilling into hull?

Yeah. That's an issue. Obviously, since he won't drill a hole for the normal Temp mount, he's kinda stuck without options.
