    Probably not Many skiers that go in the cooler months will install a heater. The motor circulates water thru the heater and a 12V fan blows air thru the coil supplying warm air. Could also be for hot water heater but then the boat would need a water tank

    Cables are the issue Look real close at the ends and look under the insulation at terminal lug. My guess is there is corrosion under the lug and insulation

    Either something is wrong with the speed-o or the prop is cavating. If motor was down on HP it would not be able to reach WOT rpm.

    Take #2 and place just the ring in the top of the bore and measure gap. Use a piston without rings and push into bore about 10mm and measure gap Repeat the gap measurement every 10 or so mm
