Stupid D I Y people.
I had to borrow a electricians HYDRAULIC gear puller 1 time.
Sounded like a high powered rifle went off.
Stay off to 1 side for hand protection.
I like the, Bow Light does go above the horizon logic. Ny Chaparral has 0 bow lift. When floored from a dead stop. I use no drive trim at any time. The drive is VERTICALE to the water surface. It feels like a car from a dead stop.
There is very little chance of finding the ORIGINAL prop size. You do not know if yours is correct. You really need someone experienced with that type, size and hp range to help you.
Can a prop shop salvage the prop ?
I have found a excellent general automotive shop. Father and 4 sons. Brake job with new rotors and pads about $440 total. Far better than Honda Accord originals. Very smooth pedal action. Love it better than Honda pedal action.
Gasoline leaking out becomes drops dripping on hull bottom. which evaporates into GASOLINE FUMES !! That can fill up the boat............. Do the carburetor body replacement routine.
Yawn
Slip is extremely important for getting all 95 % of your horsepower converted to the prop doing WOT performance from a stop to Rev Limiter top speed. Been there. Power Prop Tech support made a fantastic boat out of a 51 mph GPS boat. Problem was complete blowouts if floored at any lower...
Mercury Racing has a Prop Slip calculator.
If you are unlucky with your present UNDAMAGED prop ? You could be wasting 25% of your engine power. Go to Mercury Racing site and find out.
Trailer & light truck tires are made the cheapest way. Highest profit tires in the world. Replace EVERY 3 to 4 years.......... Not on worn out tread ? Like auto tires ? A 70 mph blow out on those tires. Is just as safe as a car blowout ?
Why do you have to SNAP the throttle open ? Is that a normal way to accelerate a normal motor ? Have you checked the operation and condition of the Reed Valves ?
The SLOW opening of throttle to WOT. Could be a fuel flow pumping problem. Replace that mushy fuel bulb. See if that affects a quicker response while being squeezed.
