Picture of fuel lines/Primer Bulb lines for J25RLEDA

The fuel pump should have a pressure rating as will the crankcase, so why not change cm and see if they are in spec, rather than replacing ?

Picture of fuel lines/Primer Bulb lines for J25RLEDA

Check your fuel connecters, clean them out. Only takes a few minutes to clean out the fuel tank and pickup tube/ filter.. Those pickups do get crushed up or mashed on ocassion. Even though your fuel pump is new, I have saw new parts not function correctly. Blowing compressed air thru carb...

    Kicker on a CC?

Co nsider cost to begin with....can't compare a new 20 grand motor to a used two stroke. I can honestly say, in my over 60 years of boating I have never wore out or needed a rebuild in a boat engine. I used my boats a lot, on the water whenever the weather permitted, but also maintained...

    Kicker on a CC?

Being the old guy here, I was raised to be self sufficient, so I apply this to my boating as well. I carry what I need to get me back in case of a failure. In my 60 plus years of boating never needed a tow, always had a way to get back.. I try to think of every scenario I could run into...

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

Every boat and trailer combo I have ever owned has needed extra support, whether more rollers, more bunks, whatever..... Can't have to much support ! My 1983 Islanders sat on a full roller trailer all of its life, many added rollers from factory and to this day, there are no dents in the hull...

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

My 1992 Sylvan 16' only uses wood for floors and decking. None in the transom or for any stringers.

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

Even if you have wood in the transom, there would not be any along the bottom where the bulge is. Wood is typically up near the top if any.

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

Not sure I would try fixing that bulge either, especially if it isn't hurting anything or leaking. Sooner or later our boats will get some boo-boos, we just live with them. I would consider using some covered 2x6 to spread out the load bearing surface. You could always remove a leaf in the...

Can I use a jack plate for short shaft motor on tall transom

" Can" it be done ? Mabey, but there are so many issues that could arise it would not be worth the trouble in my opinion. I believe in doing the job the right way, rather than constantly fixing the issues....

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

Are you referring to the " strakes" the long rib running front to back as stringers ?? According to most all aluminum boat mfgrs, do not put the strakes onto the bunks, the bunks need to be inside or outside of these strakes. Some folks even add some type of padding under the carpet covering...

    Fiberglass patch bilge pump area

I would take a good look at the other wood in your hull. If one piece was rotted, there will be more ! That wood is the skeleton of your hull, without that skeleton, your hull will fold up. Better to be safe than sorry......

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

If the springs are worn or collapsed or way to stiff the hull will get beat on going down bumpy roads. In my 60 yrs I have saw this on occasion with trailers that are to stiff or poor springs. Not common but it happens. Often people use a wider board for the bunk to spread out the load...

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

If I am not mistaken, that is an aluminum boat, no wood support down there. Looks more like a trailer with no suspension and a cranked down rachet strap that beat and crushed the hull.

New issue cropped up on my transom/bunk position!

How much weight is in or on that transom ? Looks to me like bunk should have been wider or you need another bunk. Overtime transom strap could cause that. Is the trailer to stiff/ no suspension ?? Been around aluminum boats for over 60 years and never ran across that before, definitely a...

How to best install trolley motor

Looks like the same motor I have.....as far as your install goes.....I would make a deck using 5/8" or 3/4" plywood to install level to the gunwale. Set motor so it is centered when deployed for best steering. Some aluminum angle attached to the sides that make the plywood deck flat to the...

    Best hitch protector?

What you describe is why I choose to live where I do and why I watch where I travel to. When we traveled with ATV and boat trailers, along with locks, we used security systems...portable add on units that can alert you if someone messes with your stuff ! I have no problem confronting them...
