    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Just googled it. Nothing, nada, zippo. Send like please.

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Honestly glue doesn't seem like a great option. At the time it just seemed like the best one. I was going to replace the tank until I started reading about how crappy the new EPA approved tanks are. I'd sure like to hear more about the repair kit though. Actually on this tank all I needed was a...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

I didn't know they made repair kits for fuel tanks! I sure would have bought one if I did. How about a link? My tank is a Seasense. The only Goop I know of is for cleaning your hands. I do use Shoe Goo for many repairs, but no idea if it is resistant to fuel. Or if it would stick to the plastic...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Here's a couple pics of what seemed like a permanent repair. I still think if I hadn't got rough with the tank it may have hung in there. It was tight and didn't leak anyway.

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

Just wanted to add that my hot glue repair eventually failed. It was just fine until I figured out the previous owner had somehow got a bunch of crap in the tank and I had to drain it and clean it out. Funny thing was after flipping it upside down and blowing compressed air in through the filler...

McCulloch 14 Again - Tighten the Pivot?

Very cool. Thanks brim_buster. Think I'm slowly figuring things out. I just took part #10 off the motor because it was getting hung up. It's bent pretty bad and it seems wider than the space between the brackets. I notice now though that the motor will tip up past the point where it locks in...

    Prop for McCulloch 14?

That sounds right. Thanks After 2 days on the lake though my urethane repair seems to be holding up. I figured if it was going fail it would do it first WOT blast.

McCulloch 14 Again - Tighten the Pivot?

That's interesting. Thanks for posting. I'm thinking mine is not the ox motor, but I'll look to see if have a friction adjustment similar to this. Had it out on the lake yesterday and it seemed better since tightening the bolt on the transom clamp. Think finally have it dialed in. Was really...

McCulloch 14 Again - Tighten the Pivot?

I have to constantly push on the tiller to keep the boat going straight. I'd like to reduce the effort. I tried tightening the bolt on the transom clamp that holds the two brackets together, but that didn't help. What I'd like would be to let go of it and have it remain centered. Is this...

    Prop for McCulloch 14?

Very cool. Thanks for the tip too. I'm about to do something similar, so nice to hear you've had some success. Sorry my fault for muddling two threads into one, but are you saying you have Mcculloch props or ones for the Fastwin? Maybe you could check the condition for me? I'd gladly pay the...

    Prop for McCulloch 14?

Thanks Willy, I'm really in a tough spot here it seems. I've got two motors I'm working on and both have deteriorated rubber and I can't find a new prop for either. I'm thinking bolting on a used prop is not going to be more than a temporary fix. The rubber just gets old and brittle. I bought...

    Prop for McCulloch 14?

Was down at the local shop last week. They weren't much help. It's a small lake though and a small marina. Where is Michigan Wheel located?

    Prop for McCulloch 14?

Is this normal wear and tear or is this prop about shot? I'm thinking the rubber part (hub?) is not supposed to come out like this. So am I stuck fixing this thing or can I buy a new one? I'm thinking another used one is going to be in similar condition due to rubber deteriorating with age.

    Reverse Lock Out

Still looking for reverse lockout bar. Mine is broken off and missing. I do have a picture of the part now. I just don't know where to get one. Or how to replace it either. As always suggestions appreciated.

    My Poor Fastwin

I tried a local prop shop and they looked at me like I'm nuts. They have no hubs to fit pin driven props. I'm currently thinking of ordering a new prop, not a used or NOS, from Green Bay Props. Anybody have experience with this outfit? As for the old prop, planning on replacing the rubber with...

    My Poor Fastwin

So I had the world's shortest boat ride yesterday. In and out, back to the house in an hour. Turns out my hub is spun. Seems I just can't get a break with this motor, or maybe I can....Every damn thing is breaking! LOL Anyhow do I have any options here? I see some "new" props on line, but...

    My Poor Fastwin

Boy the previous owner, a lady school teacher, really told me a story when I bought my boat. Said they'd had it on the water a few days before and all was well, except, of course it needed the "carb cleaned." Has there ever been a motor sold that wasn't said to need the carb cleaned? If it were...

    Fuel Pump Bad?

Fuel pump seems just fine. Made a new gasket for it and it no longer leaks. Screen was super clean. Weird. With all that crud in the tank, how can that be? Fixed the tank elbow again. Permanently I think. No more air bubbles. Put it in the lake and all seemed good. Started right up, idled...

    Fuel Pump Bad?

Haven't tested it yet, but it ran strong when I had it out last week. It just kept faltering and wanting to die. After seeing all the sludge in the tank it's a wonder it ran at all. Stuff was very weird though. Like a super fine saw dust that would disappear if you rubbed some between your...
