What is so difficult, could change mine in a half hour or less. I always kept a spare zip tied in place so only had a couple of bolts to loosen to slide the new one into place. Now...if you can't acess your motor.....thats another story !!
Bottom line is, you need to look carefully for a serial or model number, mabey on your title, should be under cowl or on mounting bracket!!! As far as correct prop goes, there is no such thing...a correct prop is based on the wot rpm compared to the max rpm rating on your motor. In other...
If you have the right tools and nake a good setup ( home made in my case) it only takes a half hour to pull the drive. Gimbal bearing is easy to check by hand once drive is removed. If your mechanic tells you to spend 2500 bucks just because you have it off....you need to find another...
So the drive needs pulled not that hard....pulled mine off every fall in prep for winter storage. Had the opportunity to check everything over, lube, change lower unit etc. When spring came, install and ready for the water in less than an hour. Didn' t see it being a big deal...
If my motor is in very good condition, I go with what the mfgr recomends, even if it costs more, it is worth it !! Now, if the motor is a beater and only used ocassionally, I use Walmart Super Tech and have had good sucess with it.
You might need more than one prop, depending on the load and what your going to do for rhe day. Heavier loads require less pitch, light loads more pitch but if your skiing or wakeboarding, then a different pitch might be needed. No one prop will do everything perfect...
Is there a motor for it.....trailer ?....be prepared to spend a couple thou to get it ready for the water, plus motor, plus trailer. Not trying to scare you off, just trying to be honest.
Looks kike 60's era fiberglass boat. Just be aware that there is a plywood/ wood skeleton under that fiberglass that is, in all probability rotten after all these years. That will need removed and replaced to make the boat safe for operation. Imaging the boat collapsing at speed while your...
When you have multiple uses for a battery they will have a longer healthier life. They are made to be used...however, most all battery mfgrs recomend keeping a battery near full charge when not in use, is better for long life.. Just leaving it on a charger is not that good either, a proper "...
While not marine apporoved I am sure, my boat has multiple chargers built in. There is a heavy duty extension cord running under the decking with multiple outlets for 110v plugs. All the chargers (3) plug into the main power cord then a plug comes out of a small hatch where my cord in my barn...
That isn't all bad !! Closed now, but some years back had a nice set of ramps controled by park rangers. Long lines over a quarter mile but ten ramps....rangers kept thing moving right along. At the end of the parking lot, they created a couple fake docks and a pretend ramp...designed as a...
Wait until you buy them for your hi tech electronic controlled engine in your car !! Neighbor had a tuneup on his hemi....plugs, wires, etc....over 300 bucks in plugs and wires ...no labor !!
Unfortunately we saw how well that worked so now we have foam. I can remember back seeing a hollow core boat sink from damage ( drunk driver) you could tell where the boat was from the continous flow of air bubbles.....
Back in my younger days, working at a marina next to our cottage, they had a pontoon with rectangle logs. The idea was to carry weight. You see the marina had a derrick/ winch on the front to do dock maintenence and stack up large concrete rectangles to make a breakwall. The nearby town...
