    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Did some cutting. The OE wood was half so I just replaced what was there. I'll probably spar varnish the underside for good measure too. I'll start taking care of the cushions after work at night so I can check something off the list.

Alaska is probably the only place I'd ever even consider doing a cruise...

New boat owners leaving the hobby

So long as I set everything up in the staging lanes (like you're supposed to) It's maybe 2 minutes between truck hitting the water and pulling out when solo? I'm usually gone before the three guys in front of me even have their boat running up at the lake but I just push off dad and he circles...

New boat owners leaving the hobby

It honestly doesn't surprise me. Now I just need suntex and freedom to go belly up (or at least to take a massive hit and get out of the area) and everything will be much better.

    Boat cushions

My working relationship with my upholstery guy is I get him stuff or do some minor work he needs and he takes care of me. Long standing family friend and does a lot of OE work too. Yes, I'm lucky. Quality work is hard to find.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

The bottom that my butt would be on laying in the birth. What the cushion would be attached to. As far as everything else, yea. The trim I found some leads. It's a pretty standard taylor frame that would be found on most anything from the mid 70s to the 90s. So I'll continue digging. And yes...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I've got my machine dialed in on a few test passes. The polyester thread feeds nicely compared to the nylon. It's definitely the thickest I'd go on a home machine though. I'm also contemplating plywood... I have half and 3/4 for the bottom panels of the birth. Seems half inch is more than...

    1998 Alpha 1 Gen 2 Gear Ratio (Serial# OL113587)

24-24 (in the top housing under the cap) would indicate 1.61 on an alpha. However I do believe the 24-24 was also used with another lower gearset to achieve a 2.0 ratio....

My basement looks like an upholstery shop at the moment. :p

    Ideas for using scrap fiberglass.

I did the same (minus the beer) and used it for bedding my deck in my boat. I ran out of milled fibers. So far so good.

Rubberized or Epoxy undercarriage roll on for salt water trailer?

My 21 year old galvanized trailer is still rust free inside and out used nearly exclusively in the brine. I agree the only thing better would be aluminum.

    Going straight at low speed?

Even my twin inboard 33 wanders at slow speed. It's a floating V with a lot of prop slip and wetted surface at slow speeds. It's susceptible to any slight change and any condition around it. Like others said you really don't have to do much input though with the I/O. It'll find It's center.

    Real ID

True. But my other issued IDs let me into those state/federal offices without needing to ever show a driver's license. Everyone sees my wallet and thinks I'm money bags or something. And my understanding is they pretty much hand out real ID to anyone. Some felonies will bar you from it...

    Real ID

I don't fly. The irony in how I have to get one though is they change the stamp on my drivers license from saying "not for real ID purposes" to the real ID star... using the same pieces of paper I have to bring to renew it anyway....

pieces of something when taking lower unit off

Damn. Thats one I haven't seen. Only good thing is it's in a location where water can get in and not be an issue though I'd be curious what caused it.

How Do You Utilize Sliding Rear Window on Your Pickup

I have like 2 months a year where I can enjoy having windows open. The slider has been opened 2 times since I owned it. Once just because and the other when the A/C went out. (Thermostat CEL) That's when I found out with it and the rest of the windows open on the truck the air blows in a circle...

    cooking

I use some jack Daniel's and cook up a nice marinade for London broil. Use the tenderizer to get it all inside too. Very tasty. They're good straight too and I've also made them with a splash of Italian dressing. It's one of the only cuts of beef I feel takes a marinade well and it doesn't ruin...

    Boat Battery Questions - Cranking

I have a 21 year old starting battery from the boat in the skid steer. Works alright but the reserve capacity isn't what it used to be. The 33 likes to eat batteries even with the smart charger. About 5 years is all I get though... I do think a group 27 may be light for a diesel though that's...

    Boat Battery Questions - Cranking

My vote on batteries has always been get whatever is widely available near you. They're consumables and are all more or less the same level of quality... Even the "deep cycle" ones are more of a dual purpose. Which is what I would (and do) run vs a straight starting battery A compromise on both...
