    Immediate delamination

Is it possible there was a previous repair done in that spot with epoxy already? I had to do my bilge in epoxy due to a repair i couldnt grind out because i wouldnt have had a hull left in that spot. After doing the bilge i did transition pieces to isolate the epoxy and went back to poly

I think I'm another story of a bad boat purchase

Agree about rot. Disagree about stopping project. He can make the cradle, start demo and grind away. Cut and prefit some of the wood. That way when it starts to warm he is ready to go glassing

    Resin Cracks

Yea...Grind it out and reglass. Dont let the excess pool like the factory did. If it didnt crack all the way thru it could at some point. Its not allowed to flex right like that. Side note.... what i did to help my power tools was to wrap all the intake vents with resperator mask paper. I would...

Best Way to Lay Resin on CSM?

You can get full sized epoxy paint rollers from lows or depot. I think they are purple but they are for resins. Those and the cheap 12" black plastic spreaders. I did try making a pvc roller out of 11/2 schedule 40 if i remember the size right.... it had a id the same size as a paint roller...

With my unit i had recieved all the pieces dry ( zero fluid) i could never get it to bleed and pump. Gelcoat

You have to get the wax off so the next layer will stick or at some point it will debond. Scrubbing with Windex will get most of it off then wipe with acetone or a dewaxing agent. Even if recently cured, acetone will soften gel coat and start to come off. Windex wont do that. Dont sand until all...

Proper way to wire a kill switch on Thunderbolt IV

If you have an amp meter you can check draw. If not try throwing a 5 amp fuse, then a 7 amp and then a 10 amp. The 5 should blow. Swap to the 7 and see if that blows. And same with the 10. You will have to run for a min or three but its a rough way to see amp draw. So if the 7 either gets hot or...

    Pour foam amount

When i did mine i calculated cubic feet and ordered 1 extra kit to be safe and used it all. Either be ready to order twice or get extra. I used total boat foam and they gave their expanded volume per kit but depending on temp and unavoidable waste you will be short. I also left gaps in the...

Such a Thing As Making the Hull Too Rigid?

And your tabbing works kinda like leaf springs. The widest layer will flex so much... And then every smaller layer stiffens it up a bit more. This spreads the load gradually over a wider area so things bow like a spring and not like a hinge
