Retractable Transom Tie Down Strap size

Figures....sometimes local folks in charge have no idea what they are building !! We have lots if ramps in my area, the worst ramps have the biggest parking lots. The ramp I choose to use has the smallest parking lot ! Go figure ! When busy, I have had to motor up the road a ways to find a...

So I became a proud boat owner today.

However your insurance company might have other ideas. When I bought my Islander, my ins guy wanted some proof that there was some flotation in the hull before insuring. And for your own safety in case of an accident, adding some foam is not that costly and you probably won't own that boat...

    Transducer on aluminum v-hull

Glad to see inside mount worked for someone as it bever worked for me on aluminum hulls. Like mist everything there must be some tricks you need to find. On those I tried, they worked to some degree but not as accurate and didn't work well at speed. But...hey, things change.....

Some folks trust epoxy glues to hold a piece of mounting board of some sort to attach the transducer to. Some drull just two holes to bolt on a mounting board then make all the holes needed in the mounting board. Have saw some make a bracket that attaches above the water line with clamps or...

    1995 STARCRAFT ISLANDER 191V ADVICE / PRICE

I had a 22' Islander, 1983, loved that boat. Had the 140 hp version of the 3.0, had a few leaky rivets but never got around to tightening them up. Wife became dissabled so I was forced to downsize. That Islander was great, not sure I would drop down to the 19'....but, up to you. Mine did 34...

    New Fuel Line Size

Time will tell, a local marina that services high end yachts uses them exclusivly and has for years as does the Naval equipment supplier down there. Custom built to my specs, all N1 braided fuel hose for 70 bucks shipped to my home. If the US Navy uses them, good enough for me...

2.5HP Mercury/Tohatsu/Nissan Outboard No Longer Starting

Being a new xarb does not mean it is adjusted properly for your motor. Look in a factory service manual for carb setup and follow. Why not just rebuild your existing carb ?? Rebuild kits are not that expensive and then you would know the carb is properly setup.

    Boat Tarp Material?

The most resistant material to mother nature is found at semi truck tarp centers. That stuff holds up to anything, waterproof, strong, hard to rip or tear. Over the past 25 yrs, I have had three covers made, not one has ever failed !! Even standing water and snow has never affected them, and...

    leaking riveted starcraft ('82 MR180)

Mine has three hoses/ outlet/inlets what ever. Lowest outlet is a drain, then the top one is a fill hose from the pump. Then just below that, is the overflow. I don't use live wells so all are plugged off and the livewell is just storage.

What thinketh the membership here..... Useful or just hype

I agree whole heartedly, have had the same thing happen more than once...guess I should have learned the first time !! The ramp I use is very protected from currents and wind, so in gear is not often needed. Have had it roll back off the trailer on a few ocassions and had to reload, then I...
