    1990 Rinker 18.6

So what does the troubleshooting guide lead to for a diagnosis? Still haven't posted that, which is really the only info needed to diagnose this. Nobody is going to know what a scope reading on that should be, since that's not how anybody including merc techs perform the diagnostics. I would...

    1990 Rinker 18.6

That unhelpful "advice" isn't really worth posting in a DIY forum, especially since this is a pretty minor problem. Not sure which channels are which there, but I believe you should be getting a sine wave off of the distributor and a stepped signal off the module to the coil neg (either way it...

'95-ish Glastron SSV195 carbureted mercruiser 4.3 starter solonoid wiring color codes

The oil pressure switch is probably bypassed. Power likely comes off the purple ignition wire somewhere, maybe coil positive or choke. Follow the positive back from the pump to see where it goes.

Alpha one gen one Y plate is it adjustable?

It isn't really adjustable, but a corroded/sticky pivot bolt can keep the plate from moving freely. The return spring can also have the wrong tension, which may make the plate harder/easier to move in one or both directions

Here: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/how-mercruiser-thunderbolt-ignition-systems-work.676476/ You're reinventing the wheel. The module is NLA, how do you know what you replaced is good? Yes, the ignition trigger in the dizzy is a fairly common failure point though yours should be the...

1997 5.7l water in oil. replace?

Always feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I say this, but the plugs on my 2001 were brass, or at least non ferrous gold metal of some sort. The HG was also composite ...

    Winterizing 3.7l mcm 224 165 hp mercruiser

Easiest motor ever to winterize. Step 1: unscrew the aft plug on the heat exchanger. Step 2: laugh at the rest of us and drink a beer. (Assuming no power steering) That will keep everything from freezing. The rest is normal maintenance common to all the mercs, I do everything between winter...

    TD-14 (Hurricane Milton)

Ugh. My mom "evacuated" about 1 mile in in Nokomis. Didn't listen to me to GTFO. Going to be about the worst place for the surge. Helene wiped out all the dunes already.

Upper and Lower Drain Plug Merc Sterndrive Alpha 1 Gen 1 Question

As @Scott06 said, check for a stuck gasket. I'd guess that without that gasket you'd get much more than a bit of water in the oil

    Gimbal bearing puller

Iirc I used a bearing puller with the bell housing still attached. I do know last time around the engine was out and I knocked it out from the inside. That made for an easy job.
