What is the best easiest way to clean hull?

Also, some people don’t understand how strong toilet bowl cleaner can be, especially when used over such a large surface. I think it has less to do with common sense than it does with maybe a lack of knowledge.

Changing engine oil filter same time as oil?

It doesn't make much sense to me to change the oil but leave the old filter. What sort of filter set up do you have that makes it so messy? Mine has the remote mounting so the filter is easily accessed and upside down. I just put a gallon Ziploc bag around the filter and spin it off. If I have...

    Broken coupling release lever

In that case, I'd just cut the thing off and have a new couple welded on. That poor coupler looks like it's done some hard time...

    Rivers & Open Sea

Like many things, boats tend to be purpose-built. A good river boat is likely to be terrible at sea. A boat built for offshore fishing will be lousy for pulling skiers on inland lakes. And so on.

    Can't see my boat

With tow mirrors attached to your side-views, you should get a good look at your tires. I try to check them our regularly when I'm towing, just to make sure everything is OK back there.

Voids found after new transom install

I'm glad you're not going to cut open your transom just to fill some voids. Your transom will be plenty strong as is. Most likely, even the voids wouldn't cause problems if you left them alone, but I also would want to fill them just to eliminate the possibility of water collecting there...

    Can't see my boat

Without knowing what kind of tow vehicle, boat and trailer you have, it's a bit of a guessing game for us, isn't it? I would suggest adding towing mirrors to your side view mirrors, but without knowing what you have, it's hard to know if that will be sufficient.

Voids found after new transom install

I'd drill some large holes (and relief holes) and try to inject thickened resin using a turkey baster or something that would allow you to really squirt that stuff in and fill the voids. You maybe could even use PL Premium and a caulk gun to do the same. That sounds a lot easier than cutting the...

Boat winterized and summarized each year but not used in 5 years

Not sure trying to run an engine on 5 year old gas is a good idea. That sounds like a good way to gunk up an engine. Was the engine run when they were winterizing/summerizing?

Fair price for 2010 Regal 2300 from old man?

Unless one is really desperate to go boating, this is just a horrible time to buy a boat. Prices are insane. I bet if you'd wait two years, you could get twice the boat for the same money.

Adding ski pole or tower etc.

I don't think the problem is that the tube attached to the ski pole causes the tube to submarine. The problem is that you have basically created a lever that wants to rack your transom. I'm sure it's possible to mount a ski pole so securely that even a tube burying itself under hundreds of...

What are your opinions on this boat?

With a non-running engine, it's really a crap shoot, isn't it. The problem could be an ignition control module, or there could be much worse problems lurking. Who knows? Assume the worse case scenario: you'd have to replace/rebuild the motor (and hope the outdrive is OK). Would the boat be...

    Electric Boats

Same as with cars - but more so with boats - it seems that electric is not quite ready for prime time. But prime time is coming, about that I have little doubt.

Where can i find a curved window

A friend of mine had a local glass shop fit a sheet of Lexan on a Rinker that had a broken curved windshield. It doesn't look quite as good as glass, and it won't hold up as well, but he'll be able to replace it about 10 times before he comes close to the cost of a glass replacement.

    Cold air intake

Even my ‘05 F150 had a cold air intake, One engineered by Ford to work with my engine. Most of those aftermarket cold air intakes actually draw engine air from the engine bay, where it is anything but cold…

Adding ski pole or tower etc.

We pull tubes off the transom eyes all the time. it’s the strongest place that you can attach tow line to. Pulling a tube from a ski pole or pylon is a good way to tear the thing out of the boat when the tube submarines.
