Keep getting logged out during session

I do, sometimes with up to three or four different computers/devices. But the computer above is the only one that has experienced the logging out issue.

Keep getting logged out during session

I'm on the same computer today, and it has not logged me out once. Browser is Firefox 88.0.1 (64 bit) running on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with most recent updates. Computer is an oldish homemade system with an Intel i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30 GHz, with 16 GB of RAM and 500 GB SSD drive.

    Installing a new 4.3 Mercruiser

You don't need to buy a Mercruiser alignment tool... many of us have purchased nonbranded alignment bars off EvilBay that work just fine. I think I paid about $38 for mine. You really should be pulling your drive annually to inspect U-joints, belows and alignment, anyway, so having the tool is...

Buying a used boat anxiety-talk me down.

I don't think there is anything magical about the '15 year' life design. I boat that is well cared for will last much longer, and a boat that is treated poorly will last fewer years. There is an excellent chance that a 2004 SeaRay will not have wood in the transom or stringers; you probably...

    Installing a new 4.3 Mercruiser

I'm surprised you were able to get the old motor out without pulling the drive... Yes, pull the drive. It has to be off anyway so you can check alignment after dropping in the new motor.

Keep getting logged out during session

This morning I've repeatedly had to log in; at times, I've been asked to log in even though I can see my username in the upper right hand corner of the screen. It's happened quite a few times. Each time, I'm allowed back in, only to have to log in again, sometimes when I change a page, sometimes...

    Happy Birthday - Scott Danforth

I missed it too! Belated happy birthday wishes, Scott!

    Rotted transom good stringers.

I'm amazed that a boat with a transom that looks that bad could have good stringers. Did you drill into the stringers along the base to see if the encapsulated wood is still good?

    fiberglassing in new floor

Even old closed-cell foam can be compromised and absorb water, especially if the foam was exposed to water and went thru freeze-thaw cycles. If the foam is wet, odds are good that any wood structure (even if encased in fiberglass) is also wet, so be sure drill some core samples to see if your...

    Trim tab feedback

Are you thinking of something like SmartTabs? They can help, as can lots of other stuff (props, weight distribution in boat, etc.). On my boat, SmartTabs help me get on plane and stay there at lower speeds, and they totally eliminated chine-walking at higher speeds. I think I may have lost 2-3...

    Tying to dock/reaching it

A boat hook is handy until you get the hang of docking the boat yourself. Eventually, you won't need the hook, but it makes life easier until your skills improve.

    Water Leaking from transom.

If you just replaced all that stuff, my guess would be either the gimbal housing is not sealed properly to the transom, or the bellows are not attached properly, or you got defective bellows and they have a leak.

method of joining new wood to existing stringer

I thought 1708 was just for polyester. I thought epoxy did not benefit from the CSM stiched to 1708.

Outdrive does not want to re -install in boat

Did you slather a lot of grease on the end of the drive shaft? Sometimes, if you put the grease on thick, it causes the driveshaft to hang up on the o-rings near the splines. A really thin coat is all that's needed and it helps avoid that problem. I also know that there have been times when...

method of joining new wood to existing stringer

Assuming you're planning to sister some boards to those existing stringers (to connect to the new sections of stringers), I would want more space so your sister boards overlap more with the existing stringers. I'd want at least a couple of feet of overlap - it looks like you'd have, at best, 6"...

    Transom rebuild questions

I used a several pieces of plywood glued together, about 2.5" thick. It worked well, but I did need to pick up a drill bit that was slightly longer than the normal. I figure I still saved about $480 over the jig...

    PVC stringers?

I think in this thread people are equating PVC boards with composite plastic wood deck boards (e.g., Trex) that are often made of recycled plastic bags, sawdust and other stuff. They are not the same products. PVC is very different from Trex, in that PVC isn't as dense/heavy, and it can be...

    Removing old water lines

I agree. Anytime I've tried using razor blades on gel coat, the blade ends up digging into the gel and taking out little divots.
