    IS IT THE STARTER SOLENOID?

shops these days are good if they can change the oil without leaving the plug out .the people working have no concept of diagnostics . try the key battery first before messing with the starter motor. the starters on most 2000 onward vehicles are powered up by a relay , find that and test it ...

why did you suspect the timing was an issue in the first place , was something worn like a linkage bushing , some extensive mods done or some nuff nuf mechanic had a ply with screws ?. FWIW , your symptoms seem to be what happens with an intermittent fault from the switch box. IE high RPM shut...

    Sea Ray engine replacement

go with genuine or seirrra head , intake and exhaust gaskets , its worth the expense ,the head gaskets have glue , the intake have alloy core , and the exhaust gaskets are one piece and cheap. use a good quality hi temp Permatex or the like thread sealant on the bolts.

    Ford 302 with mc-1 outdrive

i have the service manual #6 that covers the gear box , not much in there that will cause one to jump out of gear unless something broke. in gear @3K rpm that shift cable should be solid in the rod collector. at this point i would do as alldodge suggests and take a look at the condition of...

Poly or epoxy, not sure what to go with?

i pick my fights what jobs to use polyester or epoxy on. for the sake of safety ,IMHO stringer and transom replacement by someone not competent in FRP repair should always be done with epoxy.

    cooler assembly replacement ?

i would defiantly not use PVC or any other plastic if you put a pipe there., on that note , either leave it and plug the PS line holes, stick a pipe or rubber hose in there. not much difference however you do it .

    Chrysler 115 outboard

from memory ? , the older Mercury pattern is the same a Chrysler. not a lot of love for the old Chryslers , but a mighty tough and reliable motor in their day , if you have a runner just run it till it dies then repower.

Poly or epoxy, not sure what to go with?

plenty of things to consider before making a decision on what resins to use. as you are new to this epoxy is the most forgiving , poly takes some skills that come with practice , it can also be messy around the garage if you are not careful. epoxy will give you better overall strength , poly...
