    Oil Pan

there is no telling how long a powder coated alloy sump will last in your boating conditions . the better name brand alloy sumps are expensive and will probably last as long as a cheaper one in a marine environment, so dont get caught in that trap. go for the pre powder coated ones and recoat /...

    Oil Pan

choose the correct alloy sump for your motor , some are already powder coated . AM windage trays that bolt in can be bought for cheap these days.(don't run a boat motor without one) look on the hot rod parts sites. personally i would just get a steel replacement and give it a good coating...

that is a big problem , ? how bad are the bearings you removed . if they are still in spec all over using a micrometre it is acceptable to put them back in. have you looked at Mercury for bearing availability , they used that same motor in a 90 hp. sorry mate i cant help anymore except to say...

i am aware of the many issues those caps can cause , neve have i seen one cause water to enter a cylinder. , as i posted " you never know ". possibly use a dye penetrant test kit on the cap to find if there a crack , although the electrode tracks break internally from people leaning on them...

    yamaha fourstroke crank bearings

it looks as if you are going to have to use the ford part # on the OEM bearings to get the correct bearings .? what colour marking on them. ? has the crank been ground at some stage of its life. or was the crank possibly worn ( measure to see what spec it is) the reason bearings come in 3 sizes...

the few times when i have seen this happen on V8 Vortec motors . VP 5.0 GXi-G spark plug corrosion

I'm guessing but not an xsput opinion :) ,the inlet manifold is leaking from the crossover into the intake runner. check you have no sign of condensation in the oil filler cap . pressure test the motor. wherever its getting in from ,get onto it ASAP as water in the cylinders never ends well .

Found my stolen boat! Wiring nightmare, no fire

just invest in an electronic conversion if available for your motor , get rid of the now ruined filed points and the unreliable condenser.

    Engine siezed

its going to be hard to prove that them leaving the motor outside with a sheet over it caused it to seize "" guessing it would have got a lot of condensation over time and that would cause seizing.. if the risers were leaking , an inspection by a 3rd party could help eliminate their assessment...

    Starting Issue - Twin 1988 Merc 4.3's

i could be wrong so a guess would be a bad ground or grounds to the motors. it would be a matter of taking them all off and cleaning them as it is very hard to speculate not being able to view your set up. weird stuff can happen because of a single bad ground in boats. also you may want to...
