    Am I crazy

Maybe put some sound deadening material in the motor cowling? Like Dynamat or something?

    Cutting cable TV

You're absolutely right. Spectrum advertises their internet service for $49.99 but when I cut my TV service, my price turned out to actually be $74.99 because I'm an existing customer. That being said, I did save $125/mo by dropping my Spectrum TV service and going with internet only plus...

    Cutting cable TV

It's interesting timing that this thread popped back up today. I cut the TV service almost a month ago and as of now, I'm probably going to go back to Spectrum TV. SlingTV absolutely sucks!

    Some good stuff happening

I've been fighting computer problems for a week and more, so that's been taking up much of my time. But, we did get the eastern wall of the garage cleared and it's ready for running the AC wiring. My buddy has been notified and will start work at his convenience. The boy seems to prefer...

    Some good stuff happening

Well, we're halfway done! 😜 I'm very pleased with how it's turning out so far. We finished constructing, painting and installing the shelves. Got a lot of the scrap hauled off to the dump yesterday and started making room. And the shelves are up! And today we got things cleaned up and...

    Some good stuff happening

I really wrecked my shoulders a couple weeks ago while working on my truck. Haven't been physically able to do much heavy work since then. However, I did finish the HF workmate repair. It's functional again. I've been dealing with boat and other stuff lately, but we did get back to...

    Some good stuff happening

This evening, the boy got the AH stand cleaned, sanded and painted while I made some new boards for the old HF workmate. Moving along here.

Lower stand plate completed. Mounting the uprights to the upper stand plate. Stand constructed!

    Some good stuff happening

The boy is handling the cleanup while I do other work. ;) I cut some pieces from 3/4" plywood to replace the broken parts on my El Cheapo HF workmate. Here, I'm teaching the boy how to locate focis and tangents to make an oval hole in the air handler stand. He's taking geometry this year...

    Some good stuff happening

We started the garage cleanup using the "3 piles" method. 1 pile for trash 1 pile to keep 1 pile to give away It begins! I'll be using some of the "keep" pile to build stuff, then we'll put the rest into the trash pile.

    Some good stuff happening

And 2x4s it is! Got things done since my last post. Although I am by no means any kind of carpenter, I think the completed stand will hold up well enough. First, we moved stuff around so that we could "hide" the air handler. My wife doesn't know that we're doing an AC project. I...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I received the tach harness today but won't be able to install the tach for a couple more weeks. We're hot and heavy into the garage cleanup/fixup project and that's sucking up all my time. We are planning on taking the KF out this coming weekend. Long overdue!

1982 Starcraft Center Console 18' Rebuild

I recently used dental impression syringes to apply 5200 around some stainless bolts and they worked perfectly. The 5200 tube tip fit inside the applicator syringe, which allowed filling with zero mess. Then, a gentle squeeze on the syringe during application was all it took. No muss, no...

    Hours? How?!

Another point of view is that the "big" motor isn't being used much even though the boat may be out on the water, in use, a lot. Especially for fishing boats which spend "some" time getting to a fishing spot, then drifting, anchoring or using a trolling motor (electric or gas) to move around...

    Forum update

The primary font color in the replies is way too light for me to read. When I type a reply, it shows up as a nice solid black, but that very light gray font after hitting "Post reply" is TOUGH to read. 👀
