    Parts lists with part numbers

Yeah that website works pretty well. Whats the best source for actual OE Volvo parts? I’ve learned over the years to stick with OE parts.

    Parts lists with part numbers

Actually the Volvo site below points to part number 3817287. Im also looking for tensioner and idle pulley and I’m not confident in the part numbers. They give a diagram with all the parts numbered, but no reference to look up those numbers. Very frustrating.

    Parts lists with part numbers

I agree with ESG, it used to be easy to drill down to the part you need with the old iboats interface. But now it’s not that simple. Other sites I used to use don’t seem to be there anymore either. Scott thanks for that website. It’s a bit clunky but better than nothing. That’s the new and...

    Parts lists with part numbers

Hi I’ve got a 2007 5.0GXI G and I’m having trouble looking up my serpentine belt part number. My shop manual doesn’t list any part numbers. Is there a separate manual or reference somewhere to easily look up part numbers for a model year or serial series engine? Thanks

    Standard US sending unit resistances

I don’t believe so. It has the temp sender in the rear port head. I’ll probably have to change that when i switch to Sierra gauges.

    Standard US sending unit resistances

Yeah I think it’s proprietary Faria. I’ll have to replace the sender I think on that gauge. What a pain.

    Standard US sending unit resistances

The only online reference I could find shows US water temp 100-250 degrees using a 30-450 ohm sender. And 33-240 ohms for oil press and fuel gauge. Is that wrong?

    Standard US sending unit resistances

Hi gang, Volvo 5.0GXi with Faria gauges. I’m looking at replacing my gauge set but have concerns my Faria gauge sending units may not have standard US resistances to enable a new set of Sierra gauges to read correctly. I’ve searched but it’s difficult to find much info on this topic. Wondering...

It’s a deck boat so not “exactly” a true V bottom. Not sure if that matters. There is roughly 3” of just play in the steering before any resistance is felt. Power steering fluid is full. I’ll have to try the stop to stop move to see if that improves it at all. I was just wondering if there was a...

Just back from a full week vacation on the lake. The boat did great. I noticed low speed steering wanders a lot. Is there a wear item somewhere I need to replace to tighten this up?

Yes, i did just that. They are standard analog gauges. I plan to just buy a whole new set. Probably Sierra.

Ok i figured out my two Faria gauges that aren’t working do have power, ground, and signal. So the gauges are dead. Oil pressure and tach. I’d like to just buy an entire set of new gauges but don’t know if these are analog or VDO. How can I tell?

It’s a Volvo SX-A and I can just barely see the drive shaft sticking through the round flange of the transom plate. The leak is directly below that round drive shaft flange, so it’s not the shaft bellows. I think that would indicate the Y pipe connection? I can barely see it much less get to it...

This Hurricane is so hard to access back there. I’ll get a good light and stand on my head a bit and see what I can see.

I’m still going over this new to me boat learning my way around and getting all the maintenance items squared away. Or at list onto a list to get squared away. The two batteries were just sitting in the back of the boat on trays so I got them both inside battery boxes today to keep them dry...

Yes I have the flush hose with blue cap and can safely run on it. I used it to warm the engine up before changing the oil. I have well water where I keep the boat and the land lord gets all uptight about how much water it wastes running the boat. That’s why I was asking if there was a good way...

Does anyone have a trick, or particular product, that works well for blocking the water intakes on the drive while running the engine on the hose?

Yeah I thought that was weird too. I need to do a WOT test, but it runs great and we are skiers, not racers, so I prefer more bottom end than top end anyway. But 15 just seemed really low.

Also, am I reading the prop correctly and this is a 15 pitch prop? That seems way low for a 5.0 engine.
