    The exhaust shutter is under the exhaust elbow and helps keep water from back washing into the exhaust. Assuming you have the old style exhaust pipe ITEM 7

    Marine or Auto is no issue. Many of the fuel lines are same as auto and brake lines

    Don't know for sure but I'm thinking yes. Reason is because Mercury no longer has it available either. Even superseded part is not available and it looks the same as what is pictured in the cool fuel manual 40 Edit: no it doesn't look the same

    Right now I don't think you have an issue to worry about. As for adding sensors, I wouldn't do it even if wires were available, more sensors more problems IMO

    You have an issue with the fuel pump or regulator, should be 40 to 43 psi FUEL PUMP Assy The Reg is item 10 Fuel pump test procedure

    I think your control has some slop as it would after 35 years. The lower shift cable is also old, I would look at replacing the lower shift cable if it's been that long
