It works fine for us. It's what the boss gets from Ace. 100% silicone, no caulk or rtv.

    R.I.P Siphon gun.

Honestly, I'm surprised this one lasted as long as it did. I think I only spent about $80 on it.

    R.I.P Siphon gun.

It was one of those days where the gel sets up quick. My 1.8 siphon is cheap and old anyway, and didn't spray very well anymore. The gel was liquid one second and gelled up the next. I didn't even bother trying to clean it, just set it aside and borrowed the supervisor's gun.

We've been using silicone at work for well past the 12 years I've been there with no issues.

It might be possible to increase the towing capacity of the Jeep. Heavier shocks and springs might be enough. If there was a sub model of your jeep with a higher capacity, that would tell you that yours can be upgraded. I know a guy ( bk2life on S10 Forum) in Arizona who would likely be able...

    Carbon fiber keel guard

We use patchaid in our gel. Sprayed all at once, no wait time between coats. Scott uses Duratec, I never have. What does FGCI have?

Gel over the old gel. Spectrum I think so, not sure about composites or polynt. I just work in a shop, I don't order stuff. There's no primer for gel, it goes directly onto the glass. That depends on the kind of finish you want. A brush or roller is going to be pretty rough. We brush stuff...

    Carbon fiber keel guard

Spectrum is who we use for up to a gallon size. Be prepared for a huge hazardous shipping cost though. We actually ordered a 5 gallon of Whaler a while back. We get those from composites one, but I think the gel manufacturer is polynt composites.

    Carbon fiber keel guard

I imagine it would be similar to the gel. It would be a hard surface, so would get beat up just as bad. No to the primer, you use the same polyester resin that it was made with. Grind it well with some 40 grit, clean it, and glass it. Because you intended that much work, I had assumed you...

The ranger is done and in the wash bay. Next is a Basscat getting a hamby and a cheap fix to some damage at the back. Pic won't upload at the moment.

What? This is too hard to follow without punctuation.

    boat foam?

It wouldn't necessarily sink even if it's taking on water. My barely understanding it explanation is that displacement + density + air trapped in the non damaged foam = thing floats. Brodyg201, I wouldn't isolate the foam from the structure. Every one I've taken apart has always had the foam...

Finished buffing the Ranger today. I have a light tied to my cart, and it looked good with that, so I thought I was done earlier. Then I wiped it off with a microfiber and looked at it with a handheld light and saw buffing swirls everywhere, so I had to make that look better. I got the flake...

    photographs......film vs digital.

Either way can still be lost. At least with digital, you don't need to haul around another gadget. It's all on your phone. It could be sent straight to dropbox, or email ot to yourself for backup. You could also still print them out for photo albums later. So both I guess, depending on how much...

Starting a 1974 Tri-Hull Restoration, it's a Stryker Mark IV model. Need help with any information or an owners manual.

Ok, I'm sitting here and checking this out again to remember what this project is. I think I see now why you think the transom should be glassed to the cap, and why it appears cut into. Some boats use thickened epoxy where the cap and transom meet, and set the cap on top of it, basically...

Transom cracks/stability issues on year 2000 Chris-Craft 308 Express Cruiser

Nope. The repair would be weaker, wouldn't address the stringers and motor mounts, and you would still have to pull everything attached to the transom anyway. Also, it would look terrible. That should have been a big red flag.

Remember, it's just to fill small imperfections. You want like 90% glass. You have a project that you need help with?

It's just bondo and duraglas. Same stuff for autobody work. We've been using USC stuff for a while.
