    If the motor can....FLEX..... the transom it is bolted to ? Push on the lower unit area. If it flexes a INCH ? Rotten wood needs replacement.

    A factory steel strap and bits and pieces shown in picture. The company is CRAP !! Also corrosion when there is water wetting those 2 metals. Do not be surprised if your finished boat has a mysterious slow constant leak. At the contact points with softer Aluminum hull sheet metal.
