    Pretty limited in VP dealers in South Wales…. have a 100 mile round trip to take it to nearest.. I have promoted my call to them tomorrow that if they are still ‘waiting for response’ ,…. I will raise to VP.

    No .. absolutely sure .... and in any case the location of the corrosion on rams does not get hot. The corrosion is right at the point of the screw fixings of the 'earthing wires'

    Just a Q …. Understand issue of power Line currents from shore power, causing accelerated galvanic corrosion. In this case there being no mooring, and as there is no electrical power to the drive, do you mean issue with earthing cables ?

    This is a anew motor .. had full dealer PDI in September so all as per Volvo spec. Been out twice since and ni issues - maybe it was something in props.

    Fair comment ...... it did not sound like gears 'crunching' this was a rumbling sound ... almost like a bearing ...... but as it cleared after going fwd, not a bearing. Certainly no damage to prop or skeg .... I'll continue my season ..... and keep my ears open.

    Serpentine Belt Issue

    Had an answer from VP …. The belt run is not as shown in the manual, it should be fitted as I had fitted it. The additional idler pulley was added to prevent the belt ‘panting’ on the long run between alternator and crank pulley. There is no updated manual or Tech bulletin.

    I made myself up a proper puller …bolt to fit impelller and internal i realised trying to lever out impeller Like some suggested was likely to cause damage …. So made myself a puller using 2 machine screws. Also threading in just main bolt gave a nice point to gently tap home the impeller...

    Good to know I hac figured it out OK - Thnx Is there an updated diagram … or maintenance manual ? unrelated … what a fiddle to put put back in the water pump impeller, due to seat back it’s at arm stretch … ended up compressing vanes with a cable tie to get it in.
