    Exhaust snout

To answer your question: NO It's needed to help steer the boat.. It also sends the exhaust into the water away from the prop wash. When set up right the snout helps keep the boat going straight and makes it easier to steer. The new prop: does it have the thrust hub on the housing side?

89 model 120hp force from wot to start to bogging.

That's not the result I was looking for, the motor shouldn't have died?? It should have smoothed out and run right?? Check the fuel pump diaphragm? Start the motor, spray starting fluid around the intake side of the motor. Make sure it gets spray under the packs/coils and the bases of the...

    Chrysler 757HB. Heating problems (again!)

The cooling water gets to the head from the two holes in the bottom and top of the gasket. You have it in backwards? gasket? (had to ask) The holes in the sides of the gasket really don't allow water to get to the head. Now if the head has corresponding holes then it would get cooling water from...

89 model 120hp force from wot to start to bogging.

If your having trouble with idle? Good chance the port cover gaskets need replacing???? I never had to lengthen the idle screw. The primer has a diaphragm, possible when the rubber hoses went the diaphragm went too??? Once it's running, pinch off the hose to the carb from the primer.

Force 507X8B Shift & Throttle cables

The red cables are for Force/ Chrysler and Yamaha. The ones with the black barrel are Mercury and Mariner. Unfortunately they won't work on your motor. The older than 89/90 50's used a dash mounted kill switch.

Where do you buy a gas tank pickup plate for a 50HP?

The Force 50 usually came with it's own metal tank. Someone along the way changed to an OMC plastic tank. ANY tank will work.

Force 125 hp 4 cyl dies at idle. Any ideas what I should check?

It sparks enough to get it started, no prob with spark. If the comp was off it might not start or be really hard to start. The owner said; My engine starts and idles, but then it starts like coughing. That sounds like it's sucking air somewhere??? Do this: start motor/ idle/ then spray...

    Spark plug type

The 85/90/120/125/150 all called for the gapless plugs. The factory used Champion and that's what I used for years. In fact some of my plugs were probably 8-10 years old. Then changed because I felt guilty. :)

    1991 Force 90hp starting problem

Force is quieter. 10 gal for 35miles = 3.5 mpg. Thats really not that bad for such an old engine. The Force will probably get the same. You have to make sure the props the right one for both motors. Had 17p on twin 88/85s wanted more speed. Changed to 19p and got 2-3 mph more. I also got 15%...

    1984 Sea King Chrysler

Video shows the motor running good. The screw on the side is the air screw. It controls the amount of air/fuel mix at idle. Start at 1 1/2 turn out then 1/8th turns after that to adjust. Adjusting it can change the rpm's at idle. IF??? it's running I wouldn't mess too much. New plugs can make a...

Force 85 1989 flywheel magnet pain

Pics of the motor, flywheel and ignition(packs/coils)and lower unit. It sounds like your motor is a lot newer than 89. Not sure but the flywheel shouldn't fit an older motor. Magnets if they're coming apart then you'll probably need a new flywheel.
