Big water leak inside cowl, any tips for this coming repair?

That is the part# listed, even though the description says it for 3 cyl Forces.....only need the larger one on the left in the pic.....this kit probably covers many models so I guess you get the other 2 gaskets whether you want them or not.

Big water leak inside cowl, any tips for this coming repair?

Do you know your serial number? Just go to marineengine.com, Crowley Marine, etc. and look at the parts diagrams for your motor and serial number.......get the cylinder exhaust gasket shown on the motor leg diagram.....then get the seal that goes on the top of the water tube(#5) in the gear...

Big water leak inside cowl, any tips for this coming repair?

The water inlet tube is not really "connected" to the PH......when the PH is set onto the motor leg the surfaces are pressed together and a seal prevents leakage. If that seal fails water will come out.....same for the exhaust gasket.

    50 hp high speed misfire

A plugged up recirc will cause some problems.....won't cost anything to check it (maybe a gasket). Take off the cover part#17 and check the 2 small screens (#10) and the hose (#20) for blockage. Pretty simple system.....

1988 50 hp force no spark?

Did you take Nordin's advice in post #2? Otherwise you may just be chasing your tail and replacing parts randomly....orderly troubleshooting is needed to diagnose these ignition systems....wouldn't hurt to get a factory manual if you haven't already.

    50 hp high speed misfire

Clymer and Seloc are better than nothing.....they try to cover too many different motors, models, and years and don't have the detail of the factory manual. You using 50:1 mix with a quality oil? Extended periods of idling will cause a lot of smoke.....a good Italian Tune Up on the water...

    50 hp high speed misfire

Get a factory manual......will answer that question and a lot more.... Btw....your engine does not have a distributor, points, or a vacuum system....many folks try to apply automotive knowledge to these old 2-stroke motors.....they are nothing like your car/truck.

Need to adjust the dial 1990 Force carbs mixture

I got the Carbole mainly because they claim it is waterproof...IP68 rating.....and a lifetime warranty. Funny thing is you cannot replace the battery, or turn it off, so if it quits working (dead battery) are they gonna send me a new one? Lol

Locate year of engine? Force 50 (and best place to get a service manual (cheap)

The original 20+ year old factory manuals were made by the folks who made the engine and are the best there is.....(No sarcasm).

1984 force 125 Leaking tilt and trim?

Sounds like some air is still in there maybe.....keep an eye on the motor, if it gets hot let it cool for a while.....will also help with getting the bubbles out of the fluid. Make sure the engine goes all the way up till is stops, then all the way down until it stops.....full travel......

1984 force 125 Leaking tilt and trim?

Just to be clear, you don't have to let the air out.....it will do it automatically as you raise the engine up and down with the cap OFF. The expelled air will appear as bubbles in the fluid in the reservoir. If there are a lot of bubbles in the oil they will get pumped back into the system...

1984 force 125 Leaking tilt and trim?

Not much to it really.....basically, start with engine all the way down....remove cap, top off fluid. With cap off, run engine up/down a few times.....top off, then up/down a few more times. Only add fluid to reservoir when engine is all the way down......put cap back on, done. Is possible...

1984 force 125 Leaking tilt and trim?

Need to get all the air out. It is a self bleeding system....manual says to use SAE 30 Non Detergent oil. What procedure are you using to bleed it? You should not use anything on these nuts or threads......the seal is made by the metal to metal contact of the flared line to the valve body...
