    7.4GLPLKD starts and dies immediatly..

You may have to look at the voltage to your electronic ignition with the key in the on position. Somehow, you are getting voltage while you are cranking but not when the ignition is in the start position. You have the same exact engine/drive in the boat I just sold. I actually pulled the...

Mercruiser 6.2 showing high water pressure

What year is this engine? Smartcraft sensor? Really hard to believe that an exhaust flapper would be causing a water pressure issue without causing WAY more other issues like overheating and/or poor engine performance.

    Volvo Penta 3.0 GLP-D Choke/Starting Issue?

The electric choke heater is powered by an AC port off of the alternator. Check the voltage at the choke heater to see if you have AC voltage there.

    Trailer Tires

I only buy radial trailer tires. Only way I could imagine buying bias tires if I only drove 100 miles total a year.

5.7 Volvo Penta Overheating at Idle

You actually may have an oil cooler. You can typically follow one of the lines from the remote oil filter to see if it goes to a cooler.

5.7 Volvo Penta Overheating at Idle

Depends on the year and the engine model. My Volvo Penta 7.4L had an oil cooler. I actually had to change mine since it leaked and I lost all my engine oil.

5.7 Volvo Penta Overheating at Idle

All those pieces that are under water...if you are only overheating at idle, they aren't your issue. The volvo manual states that you should remove the hose feeding the thermostat and you should have an inch of head at that point with the hiose vertical. mercruiser actually ahs a test where...

    Air bags

A weight distributing hitch puts some weight back onto the front axle which was removed by putting the heavy tongue weight on the back of the truck. Makes handling WAY better since the front axle weight isn't too light anymore.

Are surge brakes always a PIA?

I have electric over hydraulic with disc brakes. I would never have drum brakes again if I ever put my boat in salt water and that includes electric drum brakes. On my pontoon trailer I still have drum surge and replaced the crappy TieDown unit. It failed after 6 years. I replaced it with a...

    Air bags

Air bags do NOTHING for your payload. In fact, they reduce it by the weight of the bags themselves. If you have too much tongue weight for a dead weight hitch, you need a weigh distributing hitch. I wouldn't even consider towing a a 14K boat without a weight distributing hitch....even with a 1T...

    Ford carb 460 Octane?

If it pings, you can always retard the spark a bit. I doubt it will but keep that in mind.

    Trailer weight distribution question

And the fenders. Actually not a bad plan because you can still use this trailer. The problem will be figuring out how far to move them.

SX outdrive stuck or was now broke :(

Pull your drive every year like you are supposed to.

water pump v belt pulley and shaft

Volvo has been using that same pump design for as long as Volvo Penta has been making stern drives. I would use it long before I switched to that Mercruiser design.
