    Don't need a transom saver if you have plenty of clearance to tow with it down. If you have to tow with the engine tilted up (for clearance) then use a TS.

    If/when that happens, hope you will continue to share your knowledge of these old motors....I plan on running mine as long as I can. Ahh, the smell of pre-dawn 2-stroke smoke out on the water.....it don't get any better than that! Lol.

    I use Sta-bil 360 Marine.....every time. But I am sure there will be many other opinions about what is best.....kind of like the OIL debate. Lol.

    @tpenfield is right.....if the PO had all the paper work before the fire, should be able to get duplicate titles, would make things a lot easier.....you could offer to pay for any fees, etc. since you got the boat for free......

    TPWD requires titles for boats and outboard motors. The trailer is handled through the County tax assessor-collector office. I don't have a title for my trailer, just a certificate of origin.

    True.....mine was never removed.....shouldn't need it with a good T&T system.....but came in handy to hold the engine fully UP when working on the T&T cylinders.....never had a problem with it on there, and rarely raise the engine that high anyway......

    You could measure the distance between 2 holes on the stern bracket.....2 non adjacent holes....if that is where those prongs insert.

    Tilt-lock on my 85......I guess yours is not on there? Might need part #10 also...tilt stop pivot.....part#F85350-1 Actually, it shows 2 #10's and maybe a #11.....depending on what is already on there or not.....
