    Advice needed on 12'-14' jon boat purchase.

    The 1980 ? Lowe 16' Aluminum has some rivets in the framing attachments. But never a wet rivet. I have never allowed winter to freeze up any water. I also have never transported it. While off of a trailer anywhere. Sliding around steel pickups will remove some Aluminum each time.

    Mount it to the top side of the hull. Then you can angle it down a little to allow washing it off with a small hose. Done that.

    I only used the tilt to hose down the flooring. Never had to launch or retrieve from mud flats or 1 foot of water.

    We geezers never needed to use stabilizers in 0% Ethanol. In boats or cars for years. Ethanol strikes fear on the web. I do not buy that stabilizers are needed in 0 % E gasoline.

    Canvas on everything marine. If you wash all surfaces first ? The canvas polishes anything it rubs on. Plastic garbage for firewood pile.

    I just bought 32 gallons of WAWA 0% Regular gas. Busy at all the pumps in Easton, Pa. In those red rounded top tanks. Will test run in March / April. And in October.

    Does your motor have a built in Voltage Regulator ? Is it working correctly ? Deep Cycle Batteries are used in OVERLOADED and run until they can not run anymore. All the time. Golf courses. They take all kinds of abuse best.

    The boat is a total loss due to so many DEEP cracks. Way too many appearing all over the transom. See if the boat is covered by any warranty. I see a farther cracking non stop. Dealer would just keep putting a coat of glass on it. Until warranty ran out.

    WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!! Only change 1 one.....Part at a time. Do NOT do several at the same time !! You will never find what 2 NEW parts were / still are defective. Learned that 70 years ago. 1 at a time then a FULL water test to prove the part is good. (y)
