    When you remove the plugs no compression can build up in the cylinders....makes it easier to move the flywheel. You say you just got the motor.....do you know the history of it? Has it been sitting up for a long time?

    The way the flywheel was removed....beating, prying, heat....may have warped or damaged it.....may need to get a new one anyway. A damaged flywheel can "grenade".....
