    Why do people buy a poon toon ? Then expect to repower so it rides as fast as a V hull ? A round hull will NEVER come close to a V or flat bottom hull.

    Way over tightened bearings. Only way to expand the bearing hubs enough to allow those caps to drop off so quickly.

    The tachometer on my 98 2330 sport SE is not working right

    Is there a small selector switch on the back of the tachometer ? Does it allow selecting the number of engine cylinders ? Yes. Slide the switch FULLY up and down several times to clean the contacts. Might get lucky.

    Only sterndrive boats do this wandering. Without a True RUDDER behind the prop ? Add in all that bubble filed exhaust ? I am surprised the boats do as well as they do. I never bother to try keeping the boat straighter. Passengers never notice or complain. :)

    I have never seen a bigger pile of odd ball castings in my life. The very bottom of the gasket area has no sealant there. Good luck on that engine. (y)(y)(y)

    I would buy the EXACT SAME key switch. There is a set of contacts to make and break in the correct sequence. Disconnect 1 or both of the battery posts to prevent a accidental dead short between the + and _ battery posts of the switch. I would use tape and Magic Marker om every wire on each screw...

    How about black & oil covered sparkplugs ? Pull all and replace them. Check that the oil is really 2 stroke. Not some leftover stuff, from someone. Bad batch of gasoline ? Or a little bit of all 3 conditions.
