VP and Merc use similar setup and both work easy enough when everything is as it should be.
If PS flid is correct then all the steering cable does is push or pull against a valve in the rear control cylinder. Make sure the flats are straight up and down and nut is tight
Replace the bilge pump and mount both pump and float on a piece of flat stock aluminum. Bent the aluminum flat stock so mounting screws attach some where easier to get to on the stringers.
This way if there is a problem later, remove screws and pull the assembly out to repair/replace
As Ted mentioned, hand pump is better and I use a hand pump my self
The reason you don't want much pressure is as the pressure increases the lip seal do seal tighter. So you want just a little pressure to find out if it will leak with just gear lube
Yes you can pressure test the drive but note no more then 7 psi and 5 is better.
Can also adjust the shift up top by hand. With motor running and cable disconnected more cable in/out to find the middle in neutral. Now it should just slide into position
^^^^ Merc says for SeaPro or Verado 3 years or 300 hours
Mercruiser still list every 1 year or 100 hours
My I/O was every 3 years (fresh water inland) but I also knew my gas supply source. If I was on the coast in all the humidity I would do it more often
Yes for both. The separator is both a filter and water separator. Unless you got into a place that had water in the gas or your some other way of getting water in the tank, there is most likely no water in the separator.
As I understand it
The flow arrows are not 100% full time.
The hose which goes from bottom of Stat to Y below is moving up even though the arrows show down. The raw water pump is pushing water to the circulating pump and circulating pump trys to push water thru block but cannot because Stat is...
Came from the service manual and another posted it, I just saved it
The n path is always flowing for the most part. The crossover and thermostat are not 100% sealed off from each other, always very small passage. Also the n path does flow but is restricted a bit. Don't look at the crossover...
It's either the gauge, sender or connections.
Old sender 0 to 175
New sender 110 to 200
My first thought is old sender was fine and new is not the correct one. What was the part number?
The gauge sender has no connection to the alarm and has one wire connection. The alarm switch has a two...
The link is the parts breakdown for the 850, might look in it to see if you can find what your looking for
Did type in 1655-7332 and it says part not found, but does list a 1655-7333
As bbookk83 mentioned, run on a remote tank.
If it still does it, need to test fuel pressure. Don't know about your area but a Vacuum fuel pump tester is pretty cheap

Was thinking if it was small enough might find a trailer to put it on. I did that bringing a 17 footer home. Being a 20 to 21 footer, finding a trailer that would hold it a trailer would be more difficult
