I always mix 6 gallons at a time in the 14 gallon O B tank and the 6 gallon tank in a RUN DRY TANK. I run a tank TOTALLY DRY. THen switch to the other tank and run it dry. Always at 100 to 1 ratio doing it every summer since 1986. Same compression when I check hand pull resistance.
My usual negative thoughts about that oil & water Milkshake mixture in a engine all winter. Can be very bad for all shiny machined surfaces. All cylinder surfaces. Same for cam & lifters. You really need a cylinder head take down before anymore running. First pull off the Valve Covers. Good...
Weird head & intake gasket leaks will suck out out and put it into cylinders.
Check how each spark plug looks. 1 or more may show the oil burning problem locations.
Your few rollers are all corroded and stuck. Need to be replaced. Those side bunk boards could be too tight to the hull.
Your trailer is rusted inside and outdside the main frame.
Take boat and trailer to a marina that does....EXCELLENT ... trailer adjustments. Work is way beyond your doing...
A simple way to prevent problems during repairs.
Take a picture of EVERY step. Of each part BEFORE you remove it. As you do disassembly. I still do it on somethings.
I have had many Sunbrella covers for over 20 years ?? None ever changed shape or color. Some needed to be cleaned and made more water proof in a low area.
Is the spinning impellor metal of a non metal part ?
I really would doubt that .015" is going to affect the pumping efficiency at all. That is nothing compared to the total volume of the pumping chamber. THat sealing O RING looks crumbly ?
Is the temperature of the engine O K ? That sealing...
Post # 12 by dingbat is correct about BLACK WIRE conductors. I have run into it a few times. My BATTERY POWERED toys in a damp full basement with RECHARGEABLE batteries would cause it. The batteries were always the run down LIFEPO4 ones. Run down past 0 voltsand some were at -minus .5 vdc. If...
Post # 8 Is the BEST ADVICE to follow. As many of us have really old reliable boats and motors...... And plastic covered wire and pulley steering systems.
As my best mechanics in the NY area tells me...............
" If it is not worn out. Do not replace it. Oils and antifreezes are the...
HO HO HO I decided to do some very needed rewiring of the control panel Change old glass fuses.
Turns out I wired in a NO starting of the starter motor.
If you do not turn on Bilge pump #1 FIRST. Leave it on. Turn the the ignition to on. Hear the power on whistle. Turn to starter motor and...
Some carbs have a packing around the idle needle thread section or a O ring of some sealing material. If missing ? Drive you crazy. Is this a new problem on a engine that ran perfect ? Or do you buy and resell after a tune up ?
What part of the engine has failed ? Gasket ? Loose head bolts ? Broken piston rings ?
Me I would readjust the idle speed screw and idle mixture screw. Good enough. Is it a 4 or 2 stroke engine ?
