    Do the different rpm / temperature tests in the lake. Those are the only temperatures that count. Check each sparkplug for a clean look.

    You need a GPS handheld to get ACTUAL speed in the water. Corrected for any river currents. Low wind speed. Less than 5 mph. How accurate is the boat tachometer ?

    The boat is supposed to be FULLY supported by the centerline KEEL SUPPORTS ONLY. The outer supports should be just slightly loose under the hull.

    Why I carry a set of 18' long car jumping leads to isolate any erratic starter problems. Handy to jump another boat with a weak battery.

    Constant ringing noise from throttle when motor is running.

    Evinrude had that same condition. Motor over heat sensor in the cylinder head was stuck in the overheat condition. I pulled the wire connector apart at the sensor. No more alarm. Replaced the overheat sensor. Still great.

    Almost every Aluminum boat with small OB on them. Do put a piece of Marine grade plywood between the outside transom skin and the inside transom Aluminum skin. That piece of plywood SPREADS out all the bending & twisting stresses of the motor ay W O T.

    The left side of the transom bottom is being crushed by water rotted wood inside of the transom. It should be the same thing on the right side of the transom bottom. behind that massive white plate. Old boats do die.

    There is only 1 way for a D I Y person to ...Completely ...mix the 2 liquids together. And KNOW they are protecting the engine from friction wear.
