    Welcome The motors need to be scanned. With slow mode (guardian) and the alarm there will be a code. Mentioned going from a 5.0 to 5.7 GXI, is the 5.7 using the 5.0 ECM?

    IMO the Mechanic didn't buy it because he's not a "actual" Tech. TBI, MPI all used MEFI's and all use the same connector

    Motors need to be scanned for codes. Also going over 1800 rpm on a hose can burn the impeller

    Don't kow of a check valve but there is a antisiphone valve on the top of tak which the rubber fuel line is attached. If it's clogged it will stop fuel Do the diodes test high resistance in one way and low and no resistance the other way?

    We had a $400 tool (strut pro) which did the job but dang that is a lot of wrench turning, and it's hard work. I have a 3 ft 3/4 drive ratchet and 35MM socket (didn't have a 1 3/8 SAE). It was good we lifted it high enough to give us room to swing. Strut pro now makes a hydraulic type for 5K...
