    I do not even see a ELJ listed, but guessing it is an electric start, manual tilt. so what T&T unit did you order to mount on that motor? I would also guess, it will not bolt to a manual tilt motor

    OP maybe not happy with a unit he cannot trim up underway, if he can get what he ordered to fit on his motor. maybe he ordered a T&T unit, we do not even know what motor he has or what he ordered

    who really knows, but usually dying whan advancing the throttle means carb problems. running too lean at idle and it has a hard time transitioning to the open throttle. or the jets passages on mail jet has a problem. there are off idle ports that need to give fuel also as the throttle is opened

    check rail pressure to see if it is in spec and see if each plug is getting spark at correct time. timing light will help with that Motor needs good compression, good spark at correct time, and the proper fuel to air ratio to start and run

    How was the tank drained and cleaned? that is the big question. Since you say it was cleaned and all fresh gas put in and it still is plugging things up, whatever draining, and cleaning was done was not very effective
