    1969 Glasspar outdrive swap out

    Measure the inside of the lower gimbal ring where the drive rests in the down position and the width of the drive you are going to use. They should be the same. Later model drives had a wider spacing at that point.

    It may be possible that you have a leaking head gasket. The leak can overcome the pressure from the raw water pump.

    3L cobra idling too high

    Yes, be sure the choke is fully open when setting the idle against the cam. You may have to readjust the idle with the boat in the water. The back pressure of the water effects the idle.

    Harmonic Balancer pulley of Mercruiser 3.0 replacement

    While the pulley and flange from a 2.5 will fit and work it is not the right part. The 2.5 has a very smooth idle compared to the 3.0. The 3.0 has more torsional vibration because of the longer stroke. Make sure that the timing mark on the timing cover is the same as your 2.5 engine.

    3L cobra idling too high

    Loosen the nut that anchors the cable and rotate the plastic nut threaded on the cable to lower the idle. You will have to also adjust the throttle stop screw to get the idle stabilized. Then retighten the anchor nut.
