New study on tow boat environmental impact

I guess it will always be something and it usually goes back to poor judgment from the operator. The big problem in the area I grew up was prop scars on the flats. They were most often cause by the rental boat fleets and people not knowing what they were doing. There was a boat rental place in...

    Idle Issues - 1980 Johnson 115 - J115TLCSA

A few years ago I asked my wife if there was anything special she wanted for Mother’s Day. She said a fence to hide all your crap. Message received fence installed. If all else fails you could always say the Forum told me to buy it.

    75 evinrude 9.9 not firing

I have to ask as it’s important to know. Did you pull the flywheel or just the nut to check the key? A lot of people will just take the nut off and look and assume all is well and that doesn’t work. Or they will not torque the nut when they put it back on and then it shears. No disrespect we...

    75 evinrude 9.9 not firing

Have you tried switching the plug wire as mentioned before? If so pull the flywheel and check the key to be sure it’s not sheared.

    75 evinrude 9.9 not firing

Maybe you have dumped too much fuel down the carb. Pull the plugs and turn it over a few times to clear the cylinders and try again. Is this a new to you motor?

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Nice place to be. There is no where for me to hide this time of the year. There are way to many people here.

Had a heck of a day

Just tossing it out there auto and marine solenoids are different. Marine versions are made not to make sparks. Sparks on a boat are not good.

    Let's talk skill...

I like cold. Spent 22 years in Fl that was enough for me. I don’t think I would survive there anymore.

Found some rocks with my prop...

I have filed out some pretty nasty dings in props with no noticeable difference but for $110 bucks I would just get an another one and keep that one as a spare.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

My grand farther used the tennis ball trick for my grandmother. She had to stuff a 72 caddy into a single car garage. There was just enough room.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

I got several tickets as a teen for rippin it off the red light. They were labeled improper start. I decide I couldn’t afford to do that any more. We also had a local section of road that was built and never used that became a drag strip. The cops didn’t bother us for years until it got to be...

    Trailer guides

I remember when I put mine on. I also left about 1/2” of space. The one thing I forgot was my boat is wider in the middle and I got stuck trying to to unload. Bonehead move on my part. Speaking of bonehead the other day a buddy asked me to move his trailer to his house. It turned out to be a...

    Idle Issues - 1980 Johnson 115 - J115TLCSA

My only suggestion and this is coming from a pack rat. If you plan to keep and service this motor keep your eyes peeled for a parts motor or parts you think you may need someday and stock pile them for the future. If all else fails you can always sell them off when the time comes.
