What do these 2 rubber hoses go to?

I use a big trash can that I installed a ball valve in the bottom of to make draining a breeze. It only takes a few seconds to burn up a dry impeller. Hope your okay. When the last time it was changed? Now may be a good time.

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

I ran into this once and ended up taking the new starter apart. I found a cracked magnet.

Does anyone remember when car & boat engines only had.

This was another simple machine. 56 Kiser that had a little 4 banger in it but it had the balls to pull its self out of any situation. We never got stuck.

Does anyone remember when car & boat engines only had.

Pretty common for me to snap a u joint if I got good traction in 2nd gear on a hot road. I kept few u joints in the trunk and did many roadside swaps. Those were the days.

Does anyone remember when car & boat engines only had.

I had a 79 and it was one of my favorite cars. Lots of fun times in that car. It was a Canadian model so it didn’t have all emissions required in the US. When I took it for a test drive and reached 70 in the blink of an eye I was so surprised. Then I realized the seepdo was in kilometers and I...

    Need to vent....

A buddy of mine felt like he got raked over the coals at a transmission shop in Fl. His farther set up a sting operation where they brought in a previously inspected car that had nothing wrong with it and they told him he needed $2,300 in repairs. And this was in the 80’s. It made the news and...

    Engine power loss

Vents can very in location but the most commonly are on the side of the hull just below the run rail. Usually round and most often chrome in color. Bugs like to make nest in them.

Booze and boat don’t always mix well.

Yea that was common back in the day and no big deal but now days there would be a big investigation and you would be labeled a boat thief on social media. I once grabbed the wrong dingy in the early more hours and when I got back to the morning it had been replaced with mine and a note that said...

Booze and boat don’t always mix well.

Before I had kids I was fishing on Chappy every night. There was no beach access to get back home at the time so if I missed the last boat I was stuck until morning but I didn’t really care. As long as I made it to work on time all was well. Those were the days. I would never make it past 10:00...

    Pet surgery cost😮

My vet offers that service as well and it’s definitely better all around. I hope his office doesn’t change much when he retires. I’ve had the same vet for 35 years. I had a black lab that went though the same as yours at only 11. Her organs just started failing one after another. A good friend...

    1990 2 stroke evinrude 40 hp

Give it a very good look over and do compression check on it and if it’s good strike a rock bottom price for a non running motor.

Need your opinion about replacing the original Reed Valves in my 1986 Evinrude 30 hp.

All good suggestions but If it’s getting where you need to go and more importantly back home again I would just leave as is swap plugs when needed and enjoy it as long as you can. All the Best to Ya.

Who know maybe we will get to see are old friends again some day. It is hard to to lose our best buds and it never gets any easier. I still think about my favorite dog all the time and she’s been gone for over 20 years. I love all my dogs but that one was hands down the best of the best.
