    Electric fuel pump conversion

    About the only thing that can go wrong with the pump is a ruptured diaphragm.----Easy $6 .00 fix.----Repeat--- it is easy.----Or if the pump does not receive a good PRESSURE pulse from the crankcase it will not work.-----Or if there is an issue with fuel line and pick up tube inside the fuel tank.

    The one plastic part ( bottom of picture 1 ) in the control box appears have missing teeth.----Did you replace that part , with available repair kit ?

    A service bulletin came to use 50:1 on these motors.----Using 100:1 will wear the motor out sooner !

    Very odd.-----Is it a factory part that you bought ?----If yes than take it back.-----Teeth on the flywheel possibly damaged by someone trying to remove the flywheel?----Is the rope the correct diameter ?----Was the spring on the gear greased ?

    Agreed ,----most small Johnson / Evinrude motors have had a fixed high speed jet ( orifice ) since about 1965.

    Oil in a test barrel is a concern to many folks.-----I have stated it many times.----Oil / lubrication / operation / inner workings of 2 strokes is not well understood.-----Oil floating in your test barrel is normal for that motor !

    This item prevents sudden closing of throttle plates.-----Why do you think it needs to be replaced ?-----Why are you having an issue finding the part # for it.

    Why would an outboard Mechanic?

    Remove the coil.----Remove left over bolt.-----Repair threaded hole with a helicoil if needed.----Install coil.------Find a new mechanic or get a manual for simple repairs.
