    Should not be hard to find the pump.--Your location ?------Not sure if yours used 2 pumps or just 1------And you might want to test / inspect / clean the distributor cap.-----New one appears to be about $300 beer tokens.

    Thermostat stuck open ?----Ruptured diaphragm in fuel pump ??-------Easy to inspect and easy to replace with a factory diaphragm.

    This topic comes up time and again.------It is the nature of a 2 stroke engine like that.----See the confused owner of a 63 model SEA KING motor in recent postings.----I have said it many times.--- 2 strokes and the concept of oil mixed with the gas is not well understood !

    Looks like a 1972 model.----Those 2 locations are for diaphragm , PRESSURE operated fuel pumps.----Do a complete evaluation of this motor before spending any beer tokens.----Post the actual compression values.-----Compression test can be done with a rope on the flywheel.----Will need a new water...

    The bearings on the crankshaft may not be the same as an OMC 18 HP.

    It would be the oil that you mix with the gas !

    Did you replace shift rod o-ring ?-----And those motors will leave an oil slick which is the oil mixed with gas.

    Cheap and easy to invest in a chart plotter.----Some now have every small lake on them.-----Makes you an instant expert on the depth of the lakes.----Cheaper than props and lower units.

    There is no gasket between the gearcase and extension housing and the exhaust housing.----Repeat , there is no gasket.

    Timing on modern motors does not go out of adjustment.-----Test run with boat in the water.-----Carburetors may need low speed mixture adjustment .----Carburetors may need cleaning.
