Obviously it had water in it and froze.----Any pictures of the inside.-----I would say that housing is warped to a degree from welding.-----Or mating surfaces are damaged , resulting in the leak.----Easy fix for me here.
All depends on your budget I guess.----Cut out that damaged part.-------Make an exact piece to fit the cutout.-----Keep that part in place with a plate inside the boat with 3" overlap all around and some rivets.
Air bubbles.-----Let motor sit for a week before checking oil in lower unit.----Check or have shaft checked for run out.----Destroying a stainless prop usually results in a bent propshaft.----A shop would use a dial indicator and not eyeball it.
The spark stops when ignition is grounded out.----Circuit is OPEN for motor to run.-----Note---12 volts from the battery is NOT used to generate spark at the plugs.----That function is done by the spinning flywheel magneto.
You need to understand that this is a simple job!-----Your motor does not have a warning horn.---It does not have a shut down feature on overheat.----It would run for you till the motor is scrap.----If you do not know how old the impeller is your motor needs a new one !--And the spline on...
The timing on these motors rarely goes out of adjustment.---Well a sheared flywheel key throws timing out.----And no you can not find a sheared key condition with a timing light.---Well , at least not on most motors.
